Title: Not a Penton but closely related!
Post by: CWilson on May 29, 2009, 09:36:08 AM
I picked up a very nice 1980 Sachs moped a few days ago and want to check the transmission oil.  Can someone tell how to check/replace it? How much and what viscosity does it require?  Thanks in advance.

According to the Sachs Owner's Manual, the 50cc Sachs moped engines require 200cc of SACHS special transmission oil - or other oils
SHell Donax T6
BP ATF
DEA fluid 684 (ATF)
Castrol TQ
Mobil Fluid 200 Y

I have original copies of the Sachs Owner's Manuals for the
Westlake (P1) with sachs 504/1 engine
Balboa (M-4) with sachs 505/1 engine
These are available for $10 and includes postage to USA addresses.
