With Father's Day about here it got me thinking about one of Jody's past Motocross Action articles(i think within the last 5 or so years) called "My Father never saw me race" or something along those lines. If anyone has a copy or knows what month and year this one is in please let me know.Impending knee surgery on Tuesday will give me some time to go through the old mag stacks but knowing where to start looking might help, assuming it didn't get tossed out which i doubt.A real neat article,Thanks,
Ric
P.S.-Happy Father's Day to all you Penton Dad's out there!

Even if Uncle Ronnie has to drive over to Tucson. Between Skip and I the doggies will be spoiled forever. Thanks Ric for being such a good Friend.

Ric,
Good luck with the surgery. Mind the doctors rehab instructions, you will heal faster and healthier.
As for the dogs, watch out that Brother Ron doesn't keep them.
Regards,
Tony
Good luck Ric ! You will be going strong very soon!!

Thanks guys,Dogs are pretty much self maintainence(except for the poop patrol).Instead of walks i've got them running after toys in backyard for exercise.I haven't totally given up on Vegas-Reno yet,but it will be tight.Doc is writing a prescrition for a CTI knee brace and if i can be on my bicycle in a month then maybe...if not there's other races this fall-Marty Tripes' 100 class sounds fun.Maybe i can finish a few bikes while rehabbing!Later,

Found the MXA article-they finally posted it on their website. This one hits home with me.It was the most popular, most requested Jody's Box and the only one he would let them post in full-My Father Never Saw Me Race.I hope you can't say that about yours....Hoping to get my Dad to the races this year and change all that.Happy Father's Day.

Ric, you probably know this but if you go to MX actions on line and do some searching you can find a whole bunch of stuff that jodi has written in the past plus a bunch of cool old pictures of some of some really cool bikes...
I hope all of you guys had a good fathers day. I spent the day at Washougal for a PV race. there were 299 entries and 19 moto's a great day of racing....There was a vintge race on saturday too with 234 entries... This have become premier event here in the Northwest. there were riders from L.A. and canada too...My buddy Dirk really knows how to put on a race.. And the track was great...
