Title: Missed opportunity.
Post by: Dale Fisher on June 22, 2009, 11:53:46 AM
Sorry guys, I missed the opportunity to get some pictures of the two Pentons racing in the AHRMA Regional at Log Road in Coldwater Michigan yesterday.  They do a great job on the track but the turn-out of about 20 riders was light.  Next race there is the national, hope to see the Penton's well represented so that I can snap some pics.:D

That was me finishing second in my debut Sportsman 250 Intermediate race. My wife took lots of pictures if I can figure how to post them.  Yes, turnout was very light but it was a great day to MX race. The track was quite muddy and rutted up pretty good. I had to run a grar lower in lots of spots to keep from bogging. Man I would like to do a reed valve conversion on my 250 Hare Scrambler!
I stayed for the open practice after the races were over at 11:00 AM and got to ride more for no extra cost. We were riding the Big track with the full jumps and modern bikes. I rode with the beginner class and felt fairly safe as most weren't jumping either. Next time I might bring my more modern bike for later.  Dan Pagel

The track was definately more challenging than the 1st round there.  I don't know if you found any of them but I ran through several "mystery spots" that looked hard and smooth but sank 4 to 6 inches upon entry.  I was riding that funny silver tanked thing with a Sachs 125cc engine in my second race after 35 years in Classic 125cc Novice.  Much faster than the first race:D Hope to see more POGGERS at the AHRMA National July 11th!
