Title: rear shocks
Post by: Denis Jeffries on June 24, 2009, 01:38:35 PM
I have a '73 jackpiner with girling rear shocks and need to be rebuilt or replaced. If I can't rebuild them where can I find some replacements. Thanks for your help
 Denis

If you are building a rider then use Works Performance shocks.
You can also use Progressive suspension non gas shocks for a more OE look. I get these out of the Parts Unlimited Street Catalog. Not nearly as good as works but adequate.  I used the 70/100 or the next heavier spring if you are 200lbs.

One Stop Moto for Progressive shocks, around $200 with springs.  Ask for Dan;)

NJB brand  are updated new Girling shocks .They have the vintage look and are a good shock if you don't do any large jumps, come in chrome or black springs . Get them from Speed and Sport in  Meadow Vista, Cal. LG

NOS Cerianis on the small bore Pentons and sometimes EMGO Girling copies.  Progressive on the 75 400 GS Penton and soon to be finished 78 390 Husky Auto.  I am not a suspension freak, as long as it works and doesn't cost a bundle I am happy.;)
