Title: SALE:Penton and Hercules
Post by: kaferacer on July 04, 2009, 10:39:00 AM
I have for sale or trade for 100 or 125 parts. I have a 75or76 Hercules 250 7 speed. Most of it is there. missing tank, seat cover, shocks. Doesn`t run, not locked up. Sell for $500.00 or trade for 100 or 125 Penton. Also have a 75or76 Penton 400cc. Rough shape, basiclly a parts bike. missing seat, top end, shocks. Everything else is there. Sell for $200.00 or trade. I am working on a VAN TECH project and I am going to put a Penton motor and wheels on it. I don`t think it has ever been done. Really need baby ceriana`s. I`m open for trades. Let`s talk.

The Hercules would have to be a 1976 or 77 model.  Does it have foward engine mounts ?

Gary, he's outside Harrisburg, Pa. If you're interested, I can haul to Mid Ohio, if that helps.

I might be interested in the 400, especially if it is a 76 MC5 and the engine seems rebuildable. Mike

If this helps. The Penton serial #frame:55006956,motor:7-5505192.
               The Herc serial# frame:470000191, motor:8488517
                      Sachs  2501/7A
I bought these mainly for the front ends. The Penton is rough, but the front end, tank, and bottom end of motor is worth $200.00
The Hercules is in better shape. I may keep it. I`m trying to help someone else out. I`m not trying to cheat anyone. make an offer or trade. I`m basically trying to stay with 125cc.

Hugh,
If we can work out the details, I am definitely interested in the 400 Penton parts. The frame and serial number indicate that it is a 1977 MC5 with a 1977 400 engine. Mike

Probably no forward engine mounts as it is the 191st 250 Hercules made.
Just keep those engine mounts tight.
