Plans are well underway for PENTONVILLE to once again become the home away from home for all of you POGGERS attending VMD. If you have been there before you know what to expect. If this is you first trip to VMD be sure stop by as soon as possible after you arrive to sign the POG register book and to check out the itinerary for the weekend.
If you follow this link you can view the photos from last years event to get a feel for what to expect.

If you have a Penton that you would like to display in the PENTONVILLE Penton display please feel free to bring it over. We like them from barn fresh to perfect restorations and everything in between.
Hope to see ya there,
Paul
FYI
In the past a headlight pass decal was required to be able to ride your motorcycle in the swap meet area, according to the rules sheet that was in the vendor packet, headlight passes are no longer required.
BUT, be sure to have a license plate on your bike and VMD also states that riders must be licensed...I do know that they keep an eye out for unlicensed bikes ;) I have also seen a few "vintage" plates displayed on some bikes[}:)]

Just a reminder to let everyone know that on Saturday I am sponsoring a cook-out prior to the start of the POG meeting.
We will start serving the dinner at 4:45 up until 6. The POG meeting will start at 6. Bring a chair to sit on, an appetite and meet some of your fellow POG members.
Gosh I get a lot of different versions of what's acceptable for a pit bike....I have a license plate for my TTR, but no "headlight". Still hitting up my friend's to borrow their Vespa's. Will I be able to move around with a license-plated TTR?
I'm racing on Friday and Saturday with my bikes. Paul - is it your understanding that the Racer parking/set-up is much closer to the Swap Meet and Pentonville this year versus previous years?
Thanks - and thanks for YOUR efforts with respect to Pentonville, Paul.
"If you build it..they will come" :D
Bob Close
Bob,
I don't know anything about the pit layout or if you need a headlight. Maybe someone with more info will chime in...
Paul
From just personal observation, alot of non legal bikes and riders in the pits, under age drivers are plentiful. Take your own chances.
The two years I've seen were like Mad Max scenes--anything with wheels and internal combustion. Including a Rupp with 36" ape hangers. I think anything operated politely and discreetly is likely to be given a pass.

I'm in.
I just found this link to a schedule of the weekends activities. When you open the link you will need to hit the + to enlarge the type. If you have never sat in on a Craig Vetter seminar I would highly recommend that you do if you have the time, what an interesting guy.

Hey Lew - congrats on your Rocket Raceway result!
Well..I've run out of time. Rained all night tonight, Wednesday evening is not "mine", pack up Thursday afternoon and hit the road by 4 pm or so. The Fast By Friedel Six Day is as ready to go as it's gonna be (for now). Looking forward to meeting all y'all!

Just steal the shocks!
Just kidding, but I think the Red Wings are a great trail/CC shock - but not the hot ticket for MX, especially if the track is more PV than vintage.
I'm looking at the VMD page and trying to figure out how much damn money I have to bring. [}:)]
Do I have to buy "admission" tickets each day for my racing on Friday and Saturday?
Or maybe I should just ask what do I have to buy admission tickets for and do I have to buy them for each day?
(We're staying in Wooster at a luxurious Super 8!)
Thanks
I am happy to announce that after a few years of not being able to attend VMD because of other obligations, Dane Leimbach will be in attendance this year. Dane is a wealth of knowledge about pretty much everything Penton, and more importantly he is a really great guy. If you have never met Dane before be sure to stop by, you will be glad you did.
John said this morning that he plans on arriving on Saturday and will be around on Sunday also. I wonder if he will be driving his orange Penton mini truck around the Mid-Ohio grounds? Keep an eye out for it. http://gallery.pentonusa.org/gallery/album16/2008_0726_Images0012
Doug Wilford missed last years event but he will be on hand all day Saturday. If you have any Sachs engine questions this is the guy to ask.
This is a great chance to spend time with the folks who made it all happen, guys like Al Born, Don Rosene, Larry Maiers and many more of the spokes of the Penton wheel are usually with in the Pentonville city limits many times over the weekend.
Bring a chair and make yourself at home.
Paul
Paul- I'd like to say "hi" to an old "Ohio" friend, Larry Maiers. Do you know how I might be able to reach him ?
Thanks and enjoy VMD! One of these years I will get there.
Jeff
Jeff,
I sent you a reply by email. Larry is living once again in Ohio and he attends a good many POG meetings.
