Title: Motoplat Repair cost?
Post by: t20sl on July 17, 2009, 08:26:22 AM
Who and how much does it cost to repair stator from a Sachs 125 with lighting?  Also does anyone re-pot the repaired item so it looks very similar to original red potted unit?  Thanks, Ted

I recently had my motoplat rebuilt by Lance Smith. $250 included winding light coils with 12v. He included a headlight and a 12v LED tail light. It comes with 5 year warenty. It does not look like the original when it is done, but so far it works very well. I also thought that Lance was very profesional to deal with and had a very fast turn around on getting it done. He is very helpful with any questions you will have.

Ted,

We have some brand new OEM Motoplat stators that can be replace the stator on the Sachs and KTM engines. The flywheel would have to be shipped to Penton Racing Products and the new stator will be timed to the flywheel.

The suggested retail price for the new stators is $165, but if you have a local dealer who is willing to discount products, then that would be a good opportunity.
