1973 PENTON "SIX DAYS" or "hare scrambler" 250. BARN FRESH. history unknown. Missing shift lever and kick lever, and both of those shafts are stripped, probably the reason why the bike was parked. Shifts through gears etc. Been sitting in a barn 29+ years. Seat cover tatty. Still has original leather tank strap and tool pouch. Still has  silencer tip. Engine turns very well with compression. Still has original magura controls, even the original shocks I think. Really a solid example of the marque. Needs a full restoration. Can ship if you make the arrangements. Asking $900 but will listen to any reasonable offer.

    Today im going to move the rat 77' KTM MC5 into my warehouse (frame No; 550-05291). It will be nestled with the other 150 or so bikes. Im lowering the price to $250 bucks, and ill honor that price for october. Im not interesting in parting it out. Id like to liquidate it, but im not interested in a lengthy negotiations process of haggling and dickering. I believe it can be brought back to life, through a long and agonizing restoration process. as I said, its rough, its locked, and missing the rear fender, some controls, the RH side cover, and ignition cover. and other bits, the piston is out, etc. IT DOES HAVE A CLEAR wash. title. I live in central washington state (yakima)and if you want this old bird, youll have to come and get it, or I can deliver to a VDR MX race this winter in WOODLAND WASHINGTON. .   Im a vintage racer who has many bikes. Recently I found a 1977 (I think) MC5 250cc KTM MX bike WITH TITLE!. Its frame number is 550-05291 and its engine no is: 6-5413145. Its in rough shape, but basically complete. appears as though piston failed, as it is out of cylinder. Missing cover over ignition, RH side cover, and rear fender, but tank is in good shape, and has all other components including a Mikuni carb. bike needs a complete and total rebuild. engine does not turn.Im asking $350 for it or best offer. I think Thomas Green in the pacific northwest was interested in it, but I couldnt get a hold of him, if you know him, tell him vintagedude has his bike.
