Sure, the bike is located in Durango, Colorado. My friend got it thinking that he would fix it up eventually but decided it was too much of a project. He has a nice old restored MG, and I have a mechanically fuel-injected '73 BMW 2002 tii (daily driver), so we know how hard it can be to come by these old parts. So rather than just throw it away, he would like the parts to get to someone who can use them.
So it's basically free, just pay the freight to get it to you if you don't live close enough to come pick it up. He thinks that most of the parts are there, but the engine was seized when he got it. Looks like it might be a 250 Cross Country? Looks very similar to my old Bultaco Alpina which, by the way, another friend of mine still has and is in incredible condition. If anyone is interested in this Penton / KTM please let me know and I'll get you in touch with the guy who has it.
'02 KTM 400 EXC - too much fun!
'78 Bultaco Alpina 250 - gone but not forgotten
'78 Yamaha XS750 - fast fun!
'72 Honda CB500/4 - 60,000 trouble-free miles
'71 Yamaha R5B 350 - 2 cylinder street 2-smoke
