Wanted / For Sale / Rickman/Zundapp parts
January 28, 2007, 01:52:05 PM
Hi Dane. Funny how things work out because I found all the electrical parts and the speedo on ebay about a week ago. [:p] I had to buy most of the glass and the tank to get the stuff so I'll have a few more parts that I won't be needing. I've had the bike for years and had been posting adds for the headlight and speedo every now and then for what seems like forever. I also found a newly posted image on the web showing the bike with all the accessories including the turn signals. It is the 73 model and is in amazingly original shape. It did have the rear taillight, but the rest of the electrical parts were removed before I picked it up. The bars/cables/levers, Dunlop chain, English Dunlop tires, grips, Dunlop rims, ect are all original and in great shape. I can't wait to get the accessories mounted. What parts do you need for your Rickman?

Penton Talk / Help Needed on New Helmet
January 04, 2007, 08:26:36 AM
Jay. Full face no question. I'd be toothless many times over without a full face helmet. I'm not very pretty to begin with, but teeth make a big difference. :D Whatever you end up buying make sure you try it on first. From brand to brand size fitment varies WILDLY! I sell a lot of helmets and a small in one brand can fit like a large in another brand....literally. There are some brands that will not fit my mellon no matter what size I try such as... Bell helmets. The human race has a lot of different head shapes and thank God all helmets don't fit the same. Trust me on this one, a European head is almost always shaped different than an Asian. A long skinny head like mine does not fit very well into a round shell. ;)Try on a bunch of them before you buy.

Rob, those display stands are awesome! I've been looking for ways to mount some of my bikes for display, but it looks like your way ahead of me. I'd like to come up with a mounting setup that would allow me to mount bikes to the ceiling horizontally. I'd gladly pay you for your time to come up with something if your interested???? Oh yea....MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone:D

Penton Talk / AHRMA reorganizes
November 17, 2006, 07:21:59 AM
I hope that the folks at AHRMA know that we are not all against them. I'm sure that many of them could use a boost these days. I can only imagine how unappreciated many of them must feel. Well said Paul.

Penton Talk / Ebay:off topic
October 29, 2006, 08:51:08 AM
If that makes you wonder, just check this one out. Ebay item #320029856714. Who would have ever thought a fuel tank for a fairly common bike would bring over $2000? YIKES [:0] I thought it was a fluke, but the next week another NOS tank popped up that was missing the original stripping and it sold for even more!

Wanted / For Sale / Needing some shocks
October 11, 2006, 08:29:53 AM
Hi there Bob. I decided to let the Scrambler rest. Since the race is going to be held with modern bikes, I'm going to ride the Evo class to try and save my aching back. [xx(] I'll be on a 79 Husky 390CR instead of the Penton. I'll keep looking for a set of shocks for the 250. I'm still thinking about a set of Progressives as the price is reasonable, but I'd really rather have a set that's period correct. With a little patience I'm sure some will turn up eventually. Looks like the weather will be totally uncooperative with possible snow in the mix! Break out the long johns and bring some firewood. See you there!

Wanted / For Sale / Needing some shocks
September 26, 2006, 08:15:21 AM
Hi all. Phil, you make me blush. Thanks for the kind words. [:I] Looks like your not going to make it to Red Bud this year. Hopefully you can get up here one of these days! Dwight, I'll see if Parts Unlimited has the PS 12 series. Ric, Jay, Tony....thanks for all your input. Looks like this years race is going to be a one day event with modern bikes in the mix. I would imagine the track is going to get really rough! I'm pretty disappointed that we will have to run with the modern bikes as the track starts out rough enough as it is. Perhaps an Evo bike would be a better choice for this one. I would imagine that by lap 2 I'll be looking for the white flag! [x(] Anyone else planning to attend?

Hi Tony. I'll have to go look again as it's been awhile since I checked, but if my poor memory is working [xx(]it seems that the seal head looked to be removable.

Hi Ric, you've got mail. Thanks for the lead on the new shocks Jay. Anyone reading this planning on attending the Grass race at Red Bud? It would be nice to meet some of you. I've got a lot of names with no faces to attach them to.
