Penton Racing Talk / AHRMA Sicily Island Event
December 20, 2016, 01:30:58 AM
I am on the steering committee along with Jerry Atchison, Craig Hayes, Brian Kirby, and Greg Holder. The Events will be like the ISDT Qualifier style events with checkpoints and different special tests. The events will be scored each day for AHRMA points but combined for medals. You can go one day and win first place points but if you don't ride both days you don't get a medal. There are to be 3 Two-Day Six Day style events. Louisiana will be the final and Six Day reunion. The banquet will be more of a social event and not as formal as the past. The Winters family have given us their blessing to continue using Leroy's name in conjunction with this event but it is not just a ISDT reunion. It will be the Leroy Winters Memorial ISDT / ISDE Ride. It will be for ALL SIX DAY TEAM riders from all years (and Fans of the SIX DAYS). I hope all can still make this event memorable. Too many liked this event to let it pass into oblivion. But with some tweaking and making it obvious we are inviting all ISDT and ISDE riders to attend (whether they ride or spectate)it will continue for many years to come.

It can't be the second weekend due to Barber's Vintage Festival. So it will be one of the last two weekends if held in late October.

It's a Secret. (Check with CC coordinator)

ISDT vets are only on front rows if they are on modern bikes.

I would have gladly paid $60 to $80 for the event.

I really want to make this event - just to (hopefully) spend some time in the museum, but always willing to take XC lessons from Brian Kirby and Dwight Rudder.  And being a former roadracer, what is not to love about that Barber course and RR racing scene.

FORGET THE MUSEUM unless you get there a day early. The museum will be outside that weekend. You can always go back to museum a different day.

Teams are 4 riders. 3 best scores. KB, No, AHRMA has not set up anything for the banquet. They don't even have any event info. They should have a link but don't.

Strange, I can't get anything to print off the info site.

I hope they post row numbers in advance so we can get some nice looking numbers on the bikes.

Wish I was going but I have to attend a business meeting the day after over 1000 miles away also.
