New floats would be a great start and a rubber tipped float needle? If you have a dietary scale weigh the floats you have now?If they weigh more than 10grams there bad?New ones are around 6 grams I think? You may want to check?:)

Penton Talk / Shock Seals
September 24, 2006, 11:00:53 AM
Koni is still in business out in california.A few years ago I called them and the fella out there told me they are exclusivly are doing shocks for offroad baja type vehicles so they did have still a spanner tool and seals to sell me.I would check a local BMW dealer too,as they had a lot of Koni shocks.Joe over at Cosmo may have seals too? There were rear shocks being sold a few years ago to Bmw guys called IKON shocks there Koni copys and may have same seals and spanner tool for seal removal check into it ?Jay:)

Penton Talk / Determining Needle Jet Size
September 24, 2006, 10:49:13 AM
I would just drop the pilot jet one size and set up the needle you have? The needle jet is just a fine tuner? There are little numbers on the side of the jets ,and on the bottom of slide, and the count the small rings on the slide needle above clip positions that tell what number slide needle you have?Look at the small numbers on the jets you have and order jets one size smaller.Hope it helps clarify!Jay:)

Check for corrosion inside of ignition flywheel and worn woodruff key in crank/flywheel junction with any slop?n it?Check for clean contacts on stator and slator backing plate for tightness on engine cases and cleaness and tightness for a good ground and make sure it did'nt come loose and spin a few mm and altered your timing? No wires are cut or bare and touching and all grounds are clean and tite?If its not a carb float problem, then its probally sucking gear oil?Jay:)

Penton Talk / Determining Needle Jet Size
September 23, 2006, 07:46:04 PM
If its a #280 drop to a #276,is it a 4or a 5 slide needle?Whatever needle you have sounds ok,you just need to drop the needle jet one size smaller,or you could run a leaner slide with a bigger air cut away?or drop the pilot one and set your needle up?until shes rich again?the best would be get a smaller needle jet and a smaller pilot and play!Hope I helped ,also what ever slide needle you have now one leaner and one richer you can always use range?A #273-#276 came in them new,a#30-35-40 pilot you can get away with a little leaner setting if you still run the choke lever on the handle bar and richen it up when you get into it!If your still running the airslide choke?Jay:)

Hey, he showed me his papers and he is legit! He is going to put a picture of it soon on his site (today or yet this week)I hope you all get to see it?Hey,if he wants to sell them so a lot of kids understand who JP was and his sons that sounds great to me?A lot of people can't afford to buy there kids a new ktm?He has reproduced a lot of items for are old bikes?I just like Pentons of any kind?It seems anymore theres only (4) to choose from anyway?I would'nt worry about him getting rich,he has done quite well for himself at his age already!I really think he just wanted to do something nice so a lot of kids can trailride in the woods on an inexspensive bike thats well made and have fun?The prices that he's kinda quoted me are very reasonable?I really believe he will back them up too!Parts don't look to be a problem for his future owners? Not wanting a war for saying all this but he's treated me ok!I really don't think he's out to make money!Jay"(maybe he can get more youths out in the woods again at nite after school and keep them out of trouble?):)

Hey Bob" Glad to see Terrys finally announcing the bike!I traveled through there two weeks ago and stopped by and it looked good!Did'nt get to ride it?There were a couple of out of state old time racers there that came to see it and was visiting with Terry while I was there so I did'nt stay long! All in All its a nice bike!I will buy one even if it turns out to be a pitbike!I have been told that the price will be very resonable too!:)
