I've also had some problems with the steering seal. If I put it on the streeing seems to be hard to turn.

Penton Talk / Flywheel Questions?
December 27, 2006, 10:05:16 PM
I don't know what the last guy who worked on the bike was doing the head gasket was missing and the magneto cover gasket wasn't there either the magneto had atleast 2 ounces of oil in it. It ran when I got it for about 15 seconds then I tried starting it again about two weekes later and it didn't start it started leaking a lot of oil and I stoped trying. Where do u think the oil is coming from? Has any one come across this problem before?

Penton Talk / Lead additive for the gas?
November 07, 2006, 01:58:22 PM
Question about octane Ratings
I thougth the higher octane was only needed in high compression motors so as not to cause preignition before the piston reaches top dead center due to the higher compression
so is their any advantages in running higher octane gas in a motor that dosn't need it? Or do guys run race gas because it is more uniform then pump gas? I have always been fine with just running premium gas.

I did kinda undestand the tank without the stripe because it was new and only a few were made without the stripe. It's kinda like the US dollars that are have a falt and are then worth millions

Just don't have a clue why some people are willing to buy something fairly common for a ton of money more then it is worth

Penton Talk / Help
September 19, 2006, 08:35:17 PM
On friday I filled the motor with oil. First off it leaked like no tomorrow, replacing the right side gasket should fix that. but what I was more conserned about was what was driping out. It wasn't fresh clean oil it was more like dirts water and oil. So i'm taking the motor apart this winter.
The past coupel of days I've been reading the Penton manual and my Sachs Service/Repair manual on rebuilding the motor.
So what I want to know is if their is anything I should know before I get started and if thiers anything I should really do when it's apart.

Oh and I need a chain for it but I don't know that size of chain needed. Is their any way find out what size chain is needed or is it different on every model of bike.
