Just now saw the post Dan. Although I dont really know you, I feel I do from the emails we have shared..I thank you for them..I know these last months have been tough, especially this one with the holiday..I will pray for you and your family, and your daughter-in-law. She sounds like a great wife and person. May the God of all comfort, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, be for you and yours what only He can be..

Gavin, Thanks for the website! It is sad and frustrating that in my part of Texas, there is not a station that has "good gas" within a 100 miles..At least, none is listed.

Talked with a technician at VP Fuels, and he says for a vintage
motorcycle use C-12. It is non-oxygenated and leaded. I found it
at Smileys Racing @ 10.95 per gallon. I was told it can be stored
in any type container in a cool place, for a reasonable length of time.

Related to the ethanol fuel problem, I have read & reread all the posts about what fuel to use in our pentons, and I am thoroughly confused. There is such a difference of opinion!. Another problem is when you live near a major city in Texas, it is against the law for that county, or any adjoining county to sell no-ethanol fuel. Because of that, there is no place to get the fuel that many recommed. I can get aviation fuel, but many of the posts warn against using that..I am wondering where do guys get their fuel who live in the Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio areas..Any other suggestions? Hope this has not shown my ignorance, but until a couple of weeks ago, I did not know that ethenol fuel harmed bike engines..I thank Thrownchain for telling me!

Kelly,
Never had the blessing of meeting your dad, but feel like I know him from all the pictures I have seen and all the messages he has posted and all the stories I have heard about him. The Lord has greatly blessed your family by giving you a loved one that will leave a wonderful legacy. You can know about a persons integrity and character and love for others by the the number of folks who love them. He has a great multitude. Please know we are praying for your family and for him. May the God of all comfort give you in great measure what only He can give!

Penton Talk / Jackpiner Decal
October 03, 2011, 05:07:56 PM
Sorry Guys, I should have done a search before I posted. Found a post way back in 2004, and a discussion about the decal, and several folks desiring one....Since there are no other posts, I guess there is no chance on getting one; repo. or original..If any one knows differently please post..Thanks!!

Thanks for the site address. Never used it before.dont know why I didn't think of googling for the web site. I guess I got dumb with old age..I was concerned about the seal around the rod..

Wanted / For Sale / nos rear fender
February 22, 2008, 12:07:23 AM
I'm looking for a rear fender for a 72 Jackpiner. Back in the 70's I replaced the original with a Preston Petty gray. Would like one of those or an original alloy..Also need an air boot for the early 72 with the amal carb. Al Buehner doesn't have a repo. for it. He said that was a rare early 72, and an air boot for it is scarce. Can any body help..or have an idea? Thanks!

Young Ted,
I don't feel much like I'm part of the group, but just for the devil of it..my Patty and I celebrated 50 years last July 27th, 2007. We are still riding together, but mostly on a Goldwing:Dtrike.
