The smoothest way to release it,(if you are not in a hurry), propably is to drain the whole engine into a barrel with diesel fuel. This cöuld take weeks but it should do the job :)

Rain Man, You may have heard it before but it's not always the outside that counts :D
I think it might look somewhat different today!

Penton Talk / 71 250 KTM from KTM 495 site

Thank you Dane!
Did Kalman Cseh mentioned how many of these "metaltankers" they made?

In the pic from the Swedish article you can see that this bike has an "over and across" exhaust.

This is s link to my website, and the 3rd pic on that page is another pic on a 71 250 "metaltanker",(the gas tank was alloy), I found the pic in a Swedish motorcycle magazine from June 1971.
The picture is "in action" from an Austrian MX event, and I think they won the Austrian MX Championship on it but I'm not quite sure. (As said before Sigi could tell everything about it).
But I really think the bike is quite cool with the alloy tank.

Penton Talk / Very Cool KTM 50

I am afraid i don't know what sort of business Mr Hallman runs. I have only met him once or twice on motorcycle meetings. But he's a nice guy and still have an interest for the old bikes and times so you can always ask him about the Penton/KTM's.
I do not know Mr Stuhlberger at all, but Torsten Hallman seemed to know him and the others from the Penton factory very well.
Mr Hallman also told me that he knew about the Penton 40 year anniversary coming up, and was well informed about it.

I talked to Torsten Hallman about the 50cc bikes that the KTM factory made. And he referred to Sigfried Stuhlberger who would know everything about those bikes.
According to Torsten these bikes were very expensive so only a few bikes were sold in Sweden for the junior MX class.

I just realised I gave you guys a good laugh :D with my "swinglish", but we all need that too along with some practical advice. Can you teach me the words for a "selfthread" screw for wood and a "similar" screw for metal[?]

I have often used a couple of wooden screws,(or similar for metal sorry dont know the name for them in English), with washers to get a good grip for pullin the old seals out.

When I looked trough my old Swedish motorcyklemagazine's I found this picture of Torsten Hallman and a 50cc KTM at IFMA Show Germany in 1972 [8D]
Hallman said that he was very happy about the new 50cc KTM, because he wanted to sell them for the Swedish junior MX class wich was 50cc at that time.

I don't know if this was a KTM factory bike but I will try to ask Torsten if he remember anything about it and if he sold any 50cc bikes in Sweden.

Penton Talk / Merry Christmas!
December 26, 2007, 07:03:17 AM
Brothers of Penton Tom!
Yes, After all these years I have finally got the Penton/KTM's I so much wanted and dreamed of as a youmg lad:D:D:D
(Even if the last two are far from the shining new bikes that I remember from back then, that's only part of the satisfaction restoring them)

1970 125cc
1973 250cc
1974 400cc
