hey I may be new here and new to dirt but I am not new to short track!  I ride a Triumph 500 in California dirt track events, not always vintage either. OK well I mean those 500's with the newfangled overhead cams I don't consider them vintage!

Anybody that is selling any 4 stroke flat track stuff I'd like to hear about it. Trackmaster, Cheney, Champion, Rickman, Knight, KR, etc etc

We are racing indoors March 31-April 1 2007 at the San Jose Fairgrounds if anybody wants to come run or watch.

Wanted / For Sale / 32mm number plate mounts?
January 29, 2007, 04:49:23 PM
Can anyone point me to a source for nice aluminum number plate mounts to fit 32mm forks?  I could use hose clamps but it would be nice to use something a bit classier.

Also if anyone is interested I know someone who makes nice new repro alloy caps for the 35mm Penton Ceriani forks.

Penton Talk / Hello, I'm new here. Monark 125.
January 22, 2007, 09:32:52 PM
I have great respect for John Penton and his products but for my first vintage motocross restoration I have chosen a Monark 125 MX. It was bought new by a friend. He raced it a bunch (MX, scrambles, short track, drag) and kept it all these years, a little worse for wear. He has sold it to me to restore and ride in local 40-Plus events.

I'm not too smart with two strokes or riding dirt but am having fun learning both dirt riding (in my late 40's) and about all these cool old MX bikes that I used to just watch from afar.

Anyway, I have been in touch with some nice folks via Mark Holloways Vintage Monark site too - they all said "Check out POG". So here I am. I'd love to hear more about how to make this lil 125 run good and be fun to ride as I bring it back from chicken coop condition.(and, will need some help finding parts).

Thanks and looking forward to it-
