Penton Talk / AMA dismisses employees
December 13, 2007, 11:49:50 AM
Having worked for a non-profit that went through 5 CEO's within 5 years, I couldn't help to notice...like the 5 I've seen come and go... The new AMA CEO seems to be funding his agenda and where he came from.   More money in lobbying padding the pockets of his friends and justifying the importance of his former position in the work force.  I'd bet anyone hired in these positions will be well paid and a personal friend of our new CEO. Usually the best way to do this is to get rid of anyone with enough clout to stand in his or her way.  Instill fear to anyone else that questions his or her motivation. We had a marketing person come in as CEO at one point...All the departments had their budgets cut so that we could better fund the marketing efforts.  Well, Another failed attempt and another CEO down the road to further his own career, leaving many passionate and dedicated employees, unemployeed and in his wake.

Just my 2 cents.

Wanted / For Sale / Berkshire for sale in ATL

I watched this bike sell in person at the J Wood auction this last March.  I actually was the last bidder out.  My personal opinion then was that it looked better in the pics(as always). But still a pretty neat old bike.

Wanted / For Sale / Steeltanker Frame Part Needed

OK.....I'm REAL NEW HERE...should probably stay out of it...but never can.

WHAT THE HECK.

I've been lurking in the back groud for almost a year now....finally join up to get help with the 4 pentons I've accumilated...and now...Larry...who I've personally met...and he's a great guy and a ton of help.  Ron who I've read post and I have developed the opinion is very knowledgable on the subject, are leaving.  Just me being selfish I guess, but the heck with those who don't agree with you...stay for us newbies that need and appreciate the help.

All us motorcycle people have issues, come on....you must to throw a leg over one in the first place.

Who cares if we play nice, thick skin, deep breath, it's about the bikes!

PLEASE!

Penton Talk / 73 250 Hare Scrambler?

Bob, I'd be really interested.  My 75 Harescramble frame has a running 73 motor in it.  I'd love to get the frame to make mine correct....not trying to buy out from under anyone else, just if it works out it would be nice to have a 73 frame with a 73 motor.

Thanks, Aaron

Penton Racing Talk / alligator
January 23, 2007, 09:34:26 AM
Paul, thanks for having me on the site.  I did see some nice vintage rides the last couple years down in Daytona.  I've made it a regular trip the last 4 years....it's a great way to start off the year after winter in MO.  Heading that way again this year and thought....ha-ha....just for second, of riding my JP instead of the 04 WR250f but the thought deminished quickly as the memories of barely making it on the modern bike resurfaced.  I like to hit the swap meet, take in the GNCC, ride the Alligator, spend a few bucks at the auction, then head back to beautiful SW MO rejuvinated about the coming year.

WHOOHOO is it really only another month away.

Hi, new to the board but if your talking the alligator enduro down in Daytona the I might be able to answer your question.  I think the Daytona Dirt Riders web site will have info on the event.  (it's a pre-enter only)  I've road it for a couple of years now and it's been carb deep water to totally dry like last year....I'll take the wet!!! That dry sand sucked it out of me.  Camping can be had at the enduro site just on the edge of Daytona starting on I believe Sunday or Monday and the race is on Thursday.

Good luck, Aaron

Hi all, Heading up to Minn, St Paul area from SW MO on Wed this week (6-13) and returning Sunday.  Probably have room to haul a bike or 2 in the back of my open PU truck if anyone is in need.  Also will be headed to MID Ohio VMD in July.  I'd like $100 per bike on the St. Paul trip either direction, and will pick up, store and bring to Ohio for $150.

Sorry for the short notice.

Thanks, Aaron

Looking for a 1973 Penton 250 frame.

Also need a set of tank decals for a 1970 Dalesman/Puch MX.

Thanks for any help!
