Thanks everyone! I appreciate your feedback. I will check the engine number when I stop by the warehouse. I've been working on a nice barn/shop. Can't wait to get all my stuff in one place! lol

Thank you. I don't know how to post pics. How about you send a text to my number posted above? I will send pics that way if ok. I really appreciate your advice.

I had forgotten about the sidestand bit. Berkie is a 72.

Hi Kevin. Thanks for the quick response. The JP has a couple of different parts that made me unsure if it was pieced together. May I sent you a couple of pics?

Penton Talk / ID help?
April 27, 2025, 02:09:34 PM
Hi Folks. I thought that I could identify all my Pentons, but could use some help here. I recently picked up two, and have a couple of questions. I did refer to the guides here. The first bike is a Berkshire, with a 21159...
Assuming a November 1972 date, is it a 72 or 73?

The other bike is a Jackpiner with pre 76 attributes. The frame number has me questioning my noggin though. It reads 54 60690...

I am thinking 74.5 to 75 model. I am reading it wrong as a June 06 date?  All help is appreciated. I do have pics to send individually, as I can't seem to get the hang of posting them here. I don't know much about their history (estate sale). It does look like JP signed one tank in 2011. Both are runners. I do plan on bringing them to sell on my annual trip to VMD.

Thanks in advance!

Rick, thank you for the update. Dave was working hard at his spot, and I hope he will be able to recover soon. I picked up a 77 tank from him. And thank you for swapping shirt sizes for my buddy in VA. I bought L and he needed XL.

Wanted / For Sale / Jackpiner roller
June 23, 2024, 08:29:28 AM
I drove to Danville to buy this one, because I feel a need to rescue these great bikes. There is not alot left. But it will hopefully be of use to someone. I will be glad to send pics to you. The airbox and aluminum side cover are good. Forks and tree look good too. Wheels: some parts ok.  8/72 frame. It just needs another home. I will bring it to VMD, along with an 82 Husky 250xc roller, an 87 Husky 250wr runner, and some other bikes; even oddball snowmobile bodywork! lol. I do have a listing on that dreaded FB under the "what are you bringing to VMD". I would prefer to com either by phone or email. 5408158411. VA. $135 will help me with another tank of gas in that motor home:)

Yes and Thank you! Now I understand how to get there. And to think that I used to go there without issue. D'oh!  Of course, now I have to look for my keys too...

Really great points. I don't post much, but do check often. I am now retired and have a few Pentons to restore or place. This is a valuable site for information. I feel that Rob has brought up some great ideas. It is my hope we find a workable solution in some way. I will be glad to help monetarily as I can.

On another matter, I have searched but can no longer find the model year and vin numbers information anywhere. Did I miss something?  Could be! Like that old band and song, "Old and in the Way".  I will be at vmd again, and hope to see everyone.

No motor. Can send a pic.

Update: I don't think my forks and clamps will be right for you. It is an older model w/ likely 32 mm forks. I think you have 35 mm.

I could not find the production year guide or serial number listing. Perhaps that won't come up on mobile? I will look on my laptop tonight. I may have missed news about these because I haven't looked in awhile.
