Wanted / For Sale / Selling out

Wow. Buncha snide remarks. Not one single offer to play ball. My heart is heavy and sad. How does this work again? I say a price, then you say "too high, how about _____". Then I say, "well ya see I really need ____." The YOU say, "well, I wish I could but ____ is about the best I can do." At least that's what I thought. I'm wrong; sorry. New to this whole thing. How's this: "Here it all is. I need to sell it. Gee whiz. How much will you pay?" Does that work? Hope so. There is one last option, but I'm saving it. May not be for polite company.

I know them (sort of). They're in Raleigh too. They are the Weaver brothers and they have a volvo dealership in town. If anyone wants to buy something from them, I'll store it until you can come get it. For good or bad I believe it's rather a mercenary enterprise, in the car-dealership sense. Lots of shiny on the tires and new paint and stickers. I don't know if their restos go beyond that.

Penton Talk / Safety wire?
December 22, 2010, 03:52:24 PM
Go to the EAA homebuilders website and see if there are some instructional videos on safety wiring for aircraft. I would say that safety wiring on light aircraft is at least as important as on an MX bike (or vice versa).Youtube is also a great source of info. Aircraft Spruce and Specialty has some good safety wire tools (not just pliers and wire of various gages but drilling jigs etc). They're a great supplier of all kinds of stuff that is useful for various hobbies.

Penton Talk / Cheap shocks

All joking aside, I know who built these. His name is Xing Tao Ping and he's five years old! Wow, talk about precocious! And what a work-ethic! 20 hours a day and no complaints! No way is he in it for the money and glory! Such a humble life. Just one little handful of rice a day. He doesn't even want to wear shoes to work. Saves all his money to give to his mom. No wonder all our good jobs are going over seas. Next time my kid starts whining about SpongeBob this or Hannah Montana that, well, you know.....

Hahahaha. Joke's on me! I thought you said "socks" and I was all hot and bothered to buy about ten pair On account of mine have done worn through). Then I looked at them and they looked like very uncomfortable socks (all those springs and stuff). But I said, "ok, well, it's just that they're a new style." But then I thought, "Gee, 80 bucks for metal socks with springs! No way! That's not cheap at all!" I didn't realize until now that they're "smocks".

I've often wondered if some of the fantasy ads that we see from time to time are posted simply to "measure the market". I doubt it's illegal in the criminal sense to advertise something you don't really want to sell, though it may be -to me at least- unethical. In NC we have a consumer protection law that sanctions "unfair and deceptive trade practices". It applies to just about any commercial situation and to any act that "tends" to deceive (see NCGS Ch 75). Food for thought...
