thanks, got it sorted out now. There is a nylon nut in the slide with a tread inside, just turn the metering rod in or out to adjust with no lock screw needed. Hope the 40mm works OK, if not I will get a new 38.

the rod has no discolouration from heat or lack of lube, just damaged rollers, and piston was starting to eat out on the top close to the exhaust.

I purchased the bike from Marks vintage swapmeet, don't really want to post the sellers name as I dont want to go down that road just incase it was the shipper that screwed up and not the seller. I am glad to say that with the help of members I have purchased another Hairscrambler and it is on it's way down here now.

In desperate need of help, I am trying to find a replacement gearbox needle bearing for a 1986 KTM 250 that I am building. Part# is 54333093000  (FAG 10-5661)
I damaged mine removing it and did not realise it is a special no longer available from KTM. Dimensions are: 26mm outside diameter, runs on 17mm gearbox shaft, 9.5 wide.

I have a 36 mm lectron power jet carb for my 1981 KTM 250 and was wondering if anyone knows what needle I should put in it as a starting point? Also a good source for the needles would help also.
