Thanks Gary, plenty of white smoke. I think I killed all the mosquitos in the neighborhood. May need some help on this one...

Thanks to all for the info and kind words. I've been piddling on this one for about a year and it's finally coming around. Engine is on the original bore which is partially why I decided to restore. Kevin the rims are new and laced with SS spokes from Buchanan polished up with a little Mother's. I had the original hubs powdercoated locally. Tank and seat pan have been reglassed and the list goes on ad on as you all know.
I have a couple of D.C. Plastic side covers along with a the original glass right side cover that's in fair condition. Also I have a few kick start levers and shift levers in poor condition which is why I'm reaching out.
Jake I'll give you a shout on the side cover, if you get a chance shoot a picture to my email. Any and all help is appreciated. So far quite a few people to thank but still a bit to go. Thanks.

Penton Talk / 96db Jackpiner

Lew, thanks for checking. When I get a chance this week I'll try isolating the fins to see if that has any effect. If not I think baffling the pipe is an option.

Thanks for the suggestions. Today I had some garage time and pulled off the Sparky (per JP) and re-installed the factory tip with the results being around 101 - 103dbl which is about 5dbl improvement over running the Sparky without the end piece. I may try stuffing the cylinder fins (per Richard/Pete) to see what happens. Still working...Thanks guys.

Thanks for the response. I don't want to wrap the bike up with rubber bands and stuff the cylinders to reduce the mechanical noise as the bike will be ridden the way it passes the test. I've been wondering if using the Supertrapp diffuser pack on the end of the stock pipe will make a noticeable difference. Any thoughts or experience. Searched the site and came up with quite a few the bikes using the Supertrapp system.

Penton Talk / Rear Akront rim
March 10, 2017, 08:28:36 AM
Bud, Thanks for the response. Asked AL and not in his ball park. This seems to be the black hole of knowledge or individual preference. Found a chart of sizing at,

http://www.central-wheel.co.uk/rims/morad_rim/morad_rim.html

Measuring my current rims I would estimate a WM2 front with a WM3 rear.
This chart may be right or wrong but it's what I have to go on. Thanks again for the response.

Kevin/Gary, thanks for your answers. It is a 74 silver motor so unpainted it is. Thanks again.
