Penton Talk / LIL info on a....gulp...jap bike

What ever you do dont let that bike run out of gas because you will have a WOT issue for about 30-40 sec. My brother in law had that bike and it happened to him multiple times and its because the bike burns a tank of gas fairly quick and before you know it your on a 400cc rocket that you cant shut off. That bike is a true widow maker.

Penton Talk / Slide in the Slide

I think what Im going to do is pull the back end off and then I can see where the cable needs to be at max when full throttle so I can get rid of the lean problem. I think the lever base lets the small slide go to far inside the main slide and the cavity is upsetting the mixture and air ratio.

The main problem im having with this carb is the choke cable or adjustment of the choke is wrong period. The lever has a mark on it and I know it needs to be alined with the base somewhere so the small slide is in the correct place in the main slide.maybe the base is missing the stop?. When I pull the choke up the bike lopes at idle. Gary Smith

The way they did the air boot on this bike makes me feel that there must have been changes in the bike when they were in production. My bike was built in Jan.82 Anyway I have all the manuals and they dont show the transition. Gary Smith

Thanks mike, do you know if there is some sort of bushing that goes between the big air boot and the small rubber transition behind the carb? Gary
