I knew it was going downhill when he cut the tab off the frame.

Anyone see the YouTube video that Mustie1 posted 3 days ago and his attempt to get the bike running? It is about an hour long video but interesting because the bike is mostly all there but the engine cases are trash. The owner may be figuring if it won't run there is no point in messing with it further. It appears to me to be a good restoration project for someone that can score a decent set of cases. Wish I were savvy enough to include the link.

Penton Talk / VIN and Ohio title quest
November 14, 2018, 12:20:11 AM
Eric,
Were you successful at obtaining the trail permit to ride in the Wayne National Forest?  I too am looking to purchase a permit to ride there in the spring on my restored vintage machines. It is a safe bet none of them were ever sold with a title when new although I do have a bill of sale for one of them. Since I do not reside in Ohio this may complicate things a bit. If you or other members have figured out how to work through this issue, please post!

Victor:
Best wishes on your health. I wish you a full and speedy recovery. I would be interested in a crankshaft assembly for a 6B motor and a working Motoplat ignition if you have one.

Penton Talk / DC Plastics?
April 20, 2017, 08:38:45 PM
I have purchased DC Plastics fenders for a couple of restorations and have not been that impressed with the fit and quality. In my opinion their products are fine for a rider/racer. For a full on resto, you may want to see what else is available. I use them because they are the only game in town for my bikes but they take some trimming to fit and have noticeable dimples that stick out like a sore thumb if painted. My paint man smoothes these out with body filler prior to painting.

Thanks for the comments. I really don't want to have to remove new material, but that may be the only choice.

Not since Feb 18th. I have found a 6B core engine since then. I will bow out until everyone else gets an opportunity. If any are left over, Jeff, let me know.

Jeff, I am still interested in one engine. If you have one with good cases and a crank intact, that is my first need. A cylinder would be good also but not as critical if someone else here needs one. Thanks.

Jeff I need one motor. Preferably with a good crank and good cases. I'll take one if still available.

Penton Talk / Motoplat Coil Help
February 11, 2016, 09:26:02 PM
The connector caps are clear and there is no -1 on the flywheel model number.  Sounds like either black lead or red lead coils will work? If that is the case, I will try to splice together the black lead coil I have and see how it goes. If my understanding as stated above is incorrect please comment. Thanks to all that replied.
