Wanted / For Sale / Source for Spoke Nipples
September 26, 2013, 12:05:57 AM
Here's a place in Germany that makes spokes and nipples also. Many Vintage Euro bikes used this brand.  They are recognizable by the 4 leaf clover stamped on the end of the spoke.

Penton Talk / '68 ciriani shock rebuild V416

I've found the shocks from a Harley(Aermacchi)M50 are almost exactly the same except for the length. They were also produced in the '60s.

Penton Talk / Cleaning Steel Tanks
April 02, 2012, 11:24:43 PM
Here's a tumbler I made out of scrap. I like using smashed automotive side window glass. Works pretty good on metal tanks as the glass has nice sharp edges. I also put in some kerosene to help break up the rust.

Penton Talk / Cleveland Cycle Show Pics
February 07, 2012, 09:56:05 PM
Well, I finally got time to caption the pics from the Bike Show. They were taken late Sunday afternoon so the bikes could be seen without any obstructions. There were many, many people visiting the booth with stories of their Pentons or who they watched racing them, being their role models, or just admiring the machinery.

I also posted the pics on the International Motorcycle Shows website for more exposure for the club.http://community.motorcycleshows.com/service/searchEverything.kickAction?as=151420&mediaType=photo&sortType=recent&tab=yes&includePhoto=on&d-7095067-p=1
This is good for a sort time as it is a link for the recent pics posted. You can still go through the pics though.

Wanted / For Sale / 1968 Berkshire 100 on craigslist

Hi Mike,
That taillight is very similar to other German/Austrian bikes, probably off the KTM Komet made by ZKW. I have one to put on my '68 V148  steel tanker.

Penton Talk / Stoner swapmeets?
October 26, 2011, 03:32:28 PM
Here's more info from Will. He is contemplating a Summer swap-meet in West Virginia during a 2-day AHRMA vintage motocross and cross country meet. Again let's support our good friend Will.

(per his email)

I have been asked to consider producing a swap meet July 28-29, 2012 in conjunction with a 2-day AHRMA vintage motocross and cross country race. The event would be east of Morgantown, West Virginia, near the Maryland border.

The site is 250 acres of hills, valleys and woods, with a 2,500 foot grass runway that would be used for race pits, the swap meet and other entertainment activities. Tentative plans also call for a Moto Giro type event and a Reliability Run (dual sport ride) for both vintage and modern bikes. We are also considering a bike show.

Primitive camping will be available, as well as refreshments. Portable showers are being considered. There are plenty of hotels within forty miles, as well as tourist attractions and shopping.

Vendor spaces would be $75 for the weekend and include two passes and camping. Spectator admission will be between $10 and $20.

Would you be interested in participating in this event? It is the week after Mid-Ohio. I would appreciate your opinion and comments either way.

Hope to see you in 2012!

Will

P.S. Don't forget the February 18, 2012 Will Stoner Swapmeet at the Medina County Fairgrounds in Medina, Ohio.
