Wanted / For Sale / 1976 175 Penton Cross Country

I have a 1976 Penton175 cross country. I have engine bored to first over, new piston, pin, head gasket and base gasket. I also removed clutch, cleaned plates flushed crankcase with ATF and repaired some wiring. Also cleaned carbs, new pet clocks. Runs great. Needs silencer, new rubber and speedo. I have pictures on ADV rider under two smokers. I put just a few miles on it and it runs great. I also. Have an extra gas tank for it that is in great condition. Also have the green 125 plastic six days tank (plastic) that is in great condition signed by John and Jack Penton in 2015. I am asking what a reasonable asking price might be for the motorcycle.  I restore motorcycles but Jack Penton said not to restore it but make sure it is mechanical trustworthy as. Some may want to Vintage race with it. Thanks for any comments.

Penton Talk / New Penton Owner

When I raced enduros in the sixties and seventies I wanted a Penton. Could never afford one so I settled on the Hondas Kaws Suzukis.  Now I finally have one.  A 1976 175 that was in a garage since 1982.  Problem was it was put there after it had motor problems during the Michigan Jack Pine Enduro and was never washed or touched.  Took the top end offand it looks like it broke a ring which then pretty much ruined they'd piston.  I have the cylinder at a machine shop to see if it just can be honed or if it needs to be bored to first over.  Question is where to look for parts that might be needed.  Right now I just want to get it running so I can ride it some this fall and then take it all apart this winter and do it right.  Suggestions would be appreciated.
