Anyone have any high quality 13.5 inch shocks for CMF???
The shafts on my Koni dampers are flat worn out.

It says 2.5mm BTDC. I've never built a 400 but on the smaller ones I've done I generally end up retarding the timing a bit. Seems to help with low rpm response. As they say in the commercials " your actual results may vary". If you have the external rotor version there is a small hole in the flywheel that will line up with another one in the stator. Use a long pin to slide through both to move the stator to the desired timing. Internal rotor version just has two marks to line up.

Which ignition does it have?

Got this machine (well) used in Avon Ohio in 1978. My first full size dirt bike. My older brother tore it apart in the early 80s with the intention of rebuilding it. Thankfully my dad never threw anything away. I finally completed it this past weekend. First time it has run in 45+ years... started first kick!

For sale or trade. I saved this thinking it was for a steel tanker but upon closer inspection I believe it must be for trials/ mudlark.

I know Penton conical hubs are magnesium, but what about the backing plates? I have an 81 model and it is clearly marked as magnesium but the older ones I have just say KTM made in Austria with the part number on the inside.

If it is original and nearly perfect I would be hesitant about racing it, but if it has some signs of wear I would race it and have fun with it. You can always find some used parts to put on it temporarily if you don't want to damage the original tank, exhaust, etc...
