Wanted / For Sale / Giant lot of penton stuff for sale

Don't make me ebay this stuff. There are 6 un-opened packages of Terrycables, 4-5 carbs including Mikunis, tons of hardware, rubber parts, sprockets, VDO speedos and brackets, speedo drives, Magura levers and parts, magura chock levers, 175 kick start levers (some fresh chrome plated), shift levers and more. Don't forget Metzler Unicross tires with correct knob pattern. 803 280 5123 or 828 551 5504

I would consider offers of course. It's a ton of stuff with some really good rare parts like aluminum fenders, un-cut exhaust pipes and exhaust heat shields. Call me 828 551 5504

Kip, Really love the Tiger. I had a Street Triple before so I was pretty sold on Triumph already. My BMW 800 GS owning friend was shocked at how smooth the Triumph engine was and how smooth it shifted. I ride on the road mostly and the Tiger does great, 21" wheel and all. Been on gravel and some pretty rough gravel/dirt roads and the Tiger felt like a real dirt bike. I like having something a little different- If everyone else on BMW, I like having Triumph. Couldn't be much happier with it. I guess that's my Penton problem- stay home and work on old bikes or go ride the mountains of Western North Carolina on the Tiger or my KTM? Ridng a modern bike with friends always wins out. Would be different if I had some vintage bike friends or some vintage races closer than 4 hours away.

I would consider partial trade for an AR-15 Rifle

Not sure I want to part everything out- If I sell something like the wheels then I'm left with a project without wheels. I could sell a pipe. I'll give you a call.

Wanted / For Sale / Sun Rims
August 20, 2010, 10:22:58 AM
I have a silver gray Sun rim with a Hipoint sticker on it. 18 x WM3 36 hole. The part number stamping is kind of worn so I think it is WM3 and it looks wider than my other rims. It came on one of my Penton projects but I'm looking to replace it with a shouldered style. I don't know what a fair price is-$50 maybe my email is [email protected] or call me at 828-551-5504

Penton Talk / Modern KTM Oils

Any dealer that buys from Parts Unlimited can get the Motorex brand oils. The clutch fluid is mineral oil and can also be ordered as a Magura item from page 611 of the 2008 Parts Unlimited catalog.

Penton Talk / Michelin Knobbys

The Metzler Uni Cross is available again and looks like the old Metzlers that came on these bikes and it comes in 120/90-18 which should be good for the 175 and bigger bikes.

Penton Talk / Michelin Knobbys
March 30, 2008, 07:46:17 PM
Michelin has fixed the compound issue with Thai made tires and all Michelin off road tires being shipped are back to the quality we've come to expect from Michelin if not even better. Many prefer to use the M12 front with an S12 rear as for some the S12 front is too aggresive. The S12 front is great for really soft terrain while the S12 rear works across a broader range of terrain. The M12 rear works great in hard rocks or deep mud- I know those are too extremes but if you look at the M12 rear tread design it will make sense. A 120/90-18 Michelin rear tire is a perfect size for most of the vintage bikes we're riding.
