Wanted / For Sale / 78/79 frame wanted

I have a 1978 250 KTM and a 1979 400 KTM both have cracked/broken frames.
Both have been welded once already with disastrous results.
The 250 has about a 50-50 chance of a salvageable repair but the 400 is about as ugly as it gets.
I have easy access to a 1980 frame that is perfect but the motor mounts are different.
If anyone has a 1978 or 79 frame they would like to sell I would sure like to talk to you
I am in south central Pennsylvania

Penton Talk / 1979 400 GS

Good morning guys
I am looking for the " bearing cover" ( #54.32.013.044)- the complete assembly that includes the arm the clutch cable attaches to on the sprocket side of the motor.  This part number is unique to the 400...the arrangement for the 250 motor is different.
Mine is very loose / wobbly/ worn out... I missed one on eBay a few weeks ago and have been kicking myself since. Hopefully someone from pog got it!
Are these rebuildable?
Thanks for any advise- George Bressler

Hello POG
I am very happy to finally be on the forum! Many thanks  to the administrator who set me up. I am presently working on a 1979 400 ktm GS...I  have had it running recently after sitting for approximately 20 years.
Hi also have a 1978 KTM 250 MC5 that also runs. My penton experience Dates back approximately to1997 when I restored a 1973 250 hare scrambler.  Others include a 1992 300 EXC Ktm And a 1999 200 XC that I bought brand new and road to an East Coast Enduro Association championship.  Great memories
It was great to see Alan Buhner and Paul Danick at the York meet a few weeks ago. I am looking  forward to getting this 400 back in the woods and barking at the trees George Bressler
