Penton Talk / Re: Front Brake Cable End

Thanks, Dale. Good resource. I am weirdly hung up on that particular end. Will probably just try to remake them or go with a regular clevis like you suggested.

Penton Talk / Front Brake Cable End

Do any of you know of a source for the cable ends for front brake cables? I can't find anything close but am hoping there is a supplier that I am not aware of.

Penton Talk / New Photo Gallery Features on POG Website
February 06, 2026, 04:04:59 AM
As many of you know, Karen—our longtime "web wonder"—has decided it was time to move on. Over the years, she and Bill created a wonderful collection of more than 8,500 photos in our galleries.

Over the past month, I've moved all of those photos from the old photo service directly onto our website. The galleries now have a fresh look, and they may continue to change a bit as we improve things.

One challenge is that photos from the last few years are missing, so some important events aren't represented. At our last meeting, it was also mentioned that we should include more photos of newer club members. I'm hoping you can help by sharing photos you already have on your phone or computer.

A new, easy way to share photos

We now have a simple feature on the website that lets POG members upload photos directly. I'll take care of placing them into the correct photo galleries.

How to get started

  • Click "Register"
You'll find the Register button under the Login link in the main menu.

    (register link on computer)

    (register link on phone)
  • Fill out the registration form
    • Please complete the form on the Register page.
    • The phone number is only used if we need to contact you to help fix a technical issue more easily.
    • Be sure to select that you are a POG member.
    • Click the Register button when finished.
  • Wait for approval
I'll confirm that you are a club member and approve your account. You should receive an approval email within one day.
  • Log in to the website
Once approved, you can log in using your username or email address and the password you chose.
  • Upload your photos
    • After logging in, scroll toward the bottom of the Photo Gallery page.
    • You'll see a new form where you can add information about the photo.
    • Click Select a Photo to choose an image from your phone or computer.
    • Click Upload Photo.

The photo will be sent to the website, and I'll receive a notice to place it in the appropriate gallery.

If you have any questions or need help at any point, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you so much for helping keep our club's memories up to date!

This message board is a different computer system from the POG Shop. The login name and password that you use here will not work if you try to use the store.

Penton Talk / New Message Board Testing
February 22, 2025, 07:17:50 AM
There was a lot of talk earlier about the software on this Message Board not being as easy to use as some people want. I have a setup a temporary server with new software to test. It will function more like what you may be used to on platforms like Facebook.

Would appreciate it if any of you regular users would want to test it out and give it a good prodding to see if it is more along the lines of what you want.

If you are interested in giving it a try, reply here and I will get in touch. Thanks!

I 100% agree with Carl. Nice bike!

Hi John,

I am not aware of anyone having all of the magazines. It is just a list of known articles. There are no scans. It has not been discussed in detail, but I would imagine that posting scans of those articles would create copyright issues for POG. Especially since Dirt Bike is still in print. Good luck with your search!

Great. Thanks Bob!

In the 1st Keeping Track issue, John Penton wrote that buyers would get a free one year subscription to Keeping Track when you bought a new bike. Do any of you know if that deal was available through 1976?

Yes. A good newsletter and enjoyed reading Dane's piece.

James, thanks for taking the time to write such a fun article about your trip to Italy. What an adventure! Great job!
