Penton Talk / New Message Board Testing
February 22, 2025, 07:17:50 AM
There was a lot of talk earlier about the software on this Message Board not being as easy to use as some people want. I have a setup a temporary server with new software to test. It will function more like what you may be used to on platforms like Facebook.

Would appreciate it if any of you regular users would want to test it out and give it a good prodding to see if it is more along the lines of what you want.

If you are interested in giving it a try, reply here and I will get in touch. Thanks!

Quote from: Carl Hill on February 09, 2025, 09:12:39 AMI wouldn't restore that one. Clean it up, fix whatever is broken, and ride it. They are only original once.

I 100% agree with Carl. Nice bike!

Hi John,

I am not aware of anyone having all of the magazines. It is just a list of known articles. There are no scans. It has not been discussed in detail, but I would imagine that posting scans of those articles would create copyright issues for POG. Especially since Dirt Bike is still in print. Good luck with your search!

Great. Thanks Bob!

In the 1st Keeping Track issue, John Penton wrote that buyers would get a free one year subscription to Keeping Track when you bought a new bike. Do any of you know if that deal was available through 1976?

Yes. A good newsletter and enjoyed reading Dane's piece.

James, thanks for taking the time to write such a fun article about your trip to Italy. What an adventure! Great job!

Penton Talk / Help Wanted
November 05, 2024, 09:42:32 AM
There have been some ideas on how we can add some more fun to the POG website. I am tapped out on what I can do so am soliciting help if there is anyone that would like to help and get involved. You do not need to have any sort of "tech" expertise. This could be a good way for new members or those outside the Ohio area hub to connect with the other members.

One idea was a "Bike of the Month" feature. Is there anyone that enjoys connecting with people and would like to help coordinate something like that?

Another idea was for someone who actively monitors the social media groups and other outlets to pick the important topics and news to create a monthly report on what is going on.

Am open to other ideas also. If there is something you would like to help with, let me know. Thanks!

Just wanted to give an update. Dave's instructions were spot on. Even with only 2000 miles on the odometer, the gears had significant wear. Am guessing that has a lot to do with a lack of maintenance. Might be worth keeping an eye on if you have one. Anyway, mine is back on the bike and am moving on to the next item.

Hi Rob. Great! Shoot me an email with your address (or you can post here if you don't mind it being public) and I will put them in the mail next week. Glad to hear someone could use them.

Penton Talk / Seat Brackets

I had some broken seat brackets and saw that Buehner's was out of stock. Figured it might be fun to try and make some new ones and am pretty happy with how they turned out. Thicker stainless steel and no welds. Made an extra set if anyone in the club needs some and wanted to give them a try.
