Gary Ellis ended up with the roller those shocks were on. Contact him and he will probably take care of you on it. I had to leave them on there so I could roll the bike around. D

I may have a rear fender for one of these. I bought a set of what I believe are nos fenders, but the rear goes all the way to the front of the swing arm and I need one for a 72 Piner. I was going to cut this one and use it, but would rather work out a deal for the right fender for my bike as it would be a shame to cut this one. D

I will take a couple.

Hyd. repair shop. Ones that repair cyls. for forklifts, cats, heavy equip. They shoud be able to hard chrome them.

I have a set of Koni shocks that I got with a parts bike. The DPO painted them with gray primer including the shafts. They would have to be cleaned prior to using them and I haven't taken them apart to check compression and rebound. Can send some pics if you are interested.D

That bike is 85 serial numbers after the one I am working on. Does it have the tube type kickstand or the one that is located with a tab on the side of the swingarm? Just curious. D

Thanks Paul. I don't know what the guy that owned the bike had done to it, or if the work was done by John. There is just the phone number and the name jotted down in the manual. There is a page in the manual that shows some work done in Feb. of '74. Also shows the bike bought new in June of '73. Frame indicates it's a Nov. '72 bike. Looks like there was some port work and the head was machined at that time. He also installed some Koni's at that time. Guy I got it from said it was left in a building that his parents bought and the guy that owned the building told them they could have anything he left there. They believe that he passed some time ago in Fla. Nothing in the manual that indicated where the bike came from. Looks like it was used to MX as there is no indication of lights ever being on it. The person I got it from said there were several trophies in the building but they didn't keep them. It has a AMA sticker on it and some numbers on the plate. Wonder if a person could chase down the rider with that info? Guess I enjoy the history as much as I do the bikes. D
