Too bad about the 495 sight though. Those guys were funny in their quest for--more power, more power, more power.

 

Thanks Mike. That means it is the same as the 495 motor.
Also, the UK 495 websight is down and has been for a few days. Do you know what the problem is?

 

The thin steel brake liner wears out inside the rear hub. Is there anyone out there that can take the hub and replace the liner?

I have searched this entire sight and this info is not in here. Does anybody know the stock timing for a  1983 420 motor?

 

I have a 1982 KTM 250,(air cooled). It needs a kickstart gear. If you have this part, contact me. I would also like to rebuild the motor ground up. main bearings,seals,top end etc. any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to figure out what all of the numbers represent on the motors. Examples, what does 8-5418257 mean and then a different one says 2-5418375. I'm certain the 54 represents 250, but I don't know what the rest of the #'s mean. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an 83 495. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a 420 jug will bolt up to this bottom end. I love the 420 power and would like to switch it over if possible. Then the other question is, are there any 420 jugs and pistons availble to switch? If so please contact me.
