Penton Talk / My Son Penton

I thought everyone would like to see two individuals who both created Pentons. :)

John Penton on the left and Duane Webber on the right, father of Penton Jared Webber.

Paul,
Karen & I like pepperoni and mushrooms or ham, green pepper & pineapple.  We are going to bring a couple of other people with us, but at this point we don't know their tastes.  I just hope they all fit in my "tin lizzie".  :D Thanks for all the work you're putting into this event.  I hope other people will reply to this topic.

See you soon,
Bill

Penton Talk / Guess If This Came From Santa
December 05, 2003, 08:02:54 PM
Doug,
You hit the nail right on the head.  This is the answer I was looking for when I asked the question.  I meant to tell you this at the POG meeting last nite. Great job.[^]

Dirtbike,
When the website received this photo this past year, I knew right away that this was going to be the homepage photo for the Holiday Season.  It is by far one of my most favorite photos to date. Karen & I are glad you enjoyed it.

Penton Talk / Guess If This Came From Santa

Yes, that's right Ron.  This is Jack Penton at a tender young age.

But the real question is, did this bike come from Santa Claus?  If it did, I'm heading to the mall right now to sit on his lap!:D

Pat,
Thanks for the reply.  We have been working on doing this for awhile.  We wanted to pull all available information together before we post.  The later years are what we are lacking.  It is surprising how many models there actually were over the 10-year span.

Penton Talk / ***News Flash*** ISDT Reunion Ride Photos

Ron,

This is Paul's original bike of 30 years ago.  Maybe we can persaude him to tell us how he found and reacquired his bike after selling it many years ago...

Paul told me the story about this bike and when I got to the Six Day, I just had to image many of its modifications.  With Paul's permission, which wasn't hard to get :), he allowed me to put these images on the website with the ISDT Reunion Ride photos.

Some of his old tricks were nothing more than original tricks 30 years ago.

Penton Talk / Electric Outage
August 17, 2003, 10:04:23 PM
I just heard on CNN that they have narrowed the origin point of the outage to the public library near Al Buehner's house.  Library officials have now played back their battery backup surveillance cameras and noticed a slender, bearded individual wearing the new Penton ISDT shirt sitting at a computer.  Later footage showed this same individual frantically running from the building just after the blackout occurred.

Teddy,
Yes, I took 249 pictures.  We have sorted through them and have picked the best of the best to post on the website.  Karen is currently building the pages so you should see something posted in a day or so.

Thom,

Our plans are to include more members bike images on the website with a new navigation button.  If you have a good image (scanned at 200 dpi, uncompressed preferred) of your bike, send it to [email protected].  We would need to post the picture for you.

Rob,

The bike you see on the home page is mine for the lack of a better photo at this time.  This bike is a 1972 model and breathes just under the seat.  Yes, I have had this bike in water worst than this and never had a problem.  The one cool thing about going through water this deep is that the motor and pipe had a definite muffled sound but it always pulled through for me.  Great bike...

Teddy,

Normally if you press "Active Topics" in the upper right corner of this page, topics would be sorted with the last post at the top.  We noticed this was not working when we took over the website.  We will try to find out why.  Thanks again for the heads up.

Penton Talk / Web Site Changes
May 21, 2003, 09:53:49 PM
Thanks for all your input on website ideas.  We are having difficulty finding a good, clear photo of JP with a Penton to use on the website homepage.

Because of this we would now like to consider using another photo with a person riding a Penton in competition, whether it be now or 30 years ago.  If you have good,  clear shot (digital preferred) of yourself, friend, or another rider, please email me at [email protected].

Thanks,
Bill Smith

John,
The photo we are looking for would be used on the home page but we would be interested in seeing your photo for use on upcoming web pages.  I guess JP pondering over what happened to his Penton would not be considered ideal for the lead in photo to our website, don't you think?
