I have a KTM World Championship sticker on ebay. I am going to try one more time to post a picture of it on this page. There are too many characters in the URL to get them all on one line, but I'll try.

pizza boxes are free to anyone. I'm going to try it again. There may not be enough room here for the URL.

Penton Talk / Bark busters
July 21, 2002, 09:24:31 AM
It seems that I remember the first bark busters I ever saw were just aluminum rod, maybe 1/2" stuck in the end of the bar, bent around the levers and clamped to the handlebar with hose clamps. Except for the hole in the grip, these could be installed for riding in the woods, and removed for show or display.

Penton Talk / Bing Carburetor
July 01, 2002, 06:31:22 PM
I hve just thought of this recently, but have not had the opportunity to try it out. My wife is a firm believer in Lime-Away. We have hard water in our area and ge meineral build-up on faucets, etc. Lime-Away takes it right off. I thought I would try it the next time I got a "white" carburetor, but the opportunity just has not presented itself. She likes the squeeze bottle better than the spray, says it is stronger. You might try it on the float bowl first, you're not likely to hurt it.

Wanted / For Sale / Bing Carb Rebuild
May 15, 2002, 06:17:57 PM
Jeff, I had a 400 that about drove me nuts trying to find a problem such as you describe. I finally decided to tear the engine down to see if something inside was causing the problem. When I took off the gas tank, the coil mounting bracket was cracked; sometimes it had good ground, sometimes it did not. I welded the bracket, ran an extra ground strap to the coil and cured the problem. Check it out. joe

Wanted / For Sale / Rear MX fender needed
April 16, 2002, 08:33:49 PM
Oh, my! It seems I'm always an hour late or a dollar short. I have a new Preston Petty MX rear fender that just happens to be 6" wide! The problem is I just this afternoon promised to sell it to someone else. Yeah, I know, "A lot of good that does me." I have a new PP enduro fender that I plan to post on eBay (silver) and a (maybe 2, I'll have to look tomorrow) good used white one that has the light lens missing. I am also going to post 2 silver PP front fenders. NOS still in the bag and 3 PP skid plates (engine guards) Check my auctions the next couple of days.

Penton Talk / VDO Speedometer Question
February 16, 2002, 12:14:14 PM
It has been forcefully brought to my attention that the way I remember things is not always the way they actually were; but AS I REMEMBER IT, we used to change the gears in the drive to "calibrate" a speedometer; not so much to make it more accurate, but to attune it more closely to the Japanese speedometers which were usually used to lay out an enduro. (Right or wrong we always thought we were right and they were wrong :-)

I listed a few things on ebay today and found some jerseys and sweatshirts. I remember there are some NOS Preston Petty fenders in the barn. I'll try to get them out tomorrow.
