Penton Talk / KTM kicker shaft sizes??? HELP!
April 30, 2002, 05:34:07 PM
Thanks Rocket.

I found out from Al Buehner that the two sizes for the KTM kicker shafts are 14mm for the small shaft and 17mm for the larger.  I hope this info helps others as well.  Are there any other makes that are interchangeable?  I don't care how it looks just so long as I can kick the engine over.

Thanks again.

Hello Chief.

I just posted a similar problem myself and was told by a fellow rider that the first three numbers on the steering head will tell you the year and month of manufacture 4 =74 01 = January etc.  I hope this helps.

Thank you Doug.  I now know that it is a 79 built in January.  Now I just have to figure out the model.

Hello all.

I am parting out an old KTM 175 enduro on eBay.  The auctions will end this Sunday night.  Go to eBay.com and look up Item # 1841303214.  You can then check out my other auctions for more parts.  Thanks for looking.  Andy

Penton Talk / KTM kicker shaft sizes??? HELP!
April 30, 2002, 01:07:24 AM
Hello everyone.

I have an old 79 KTM 175 enduro.  I am looking for a kick start lever for it and hear that there are 2 sizes of shafts, a larger and a smaller.  Is this true?  If it is, could anyone tell me what the diameters of both sizes are?  It would help me in finding a used part.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Penton Talk / KTM 175 enduro

Hello all.

I am hoping someone can help me out.  I recently purchased a old twin shock, air cooled KTM 175 enduro bike.  I have no idea what year it is or even the model.  I can send a picture to anyone that may have an idea or know about this bike.  The bike looks to be in decent shape and I want to fix it up so that I can ride it.  The main problem is that its missing the kicker.  Does anyone know if any KTM kicker will work or does it have to be year and/or model specific?  Please email any suggestions to me at [email protected].

Thanks in advance for any help.
