Many thanks, guys. Combining all your suggestions led to a successful surgery. I'm off to Waldo with new fork seals and tire!

Penton Talk / Jetting for 250

Oops - ignore that thing above.

I'm not going to be much help locating a reed block - mine was already on a spare motor that I bought. Seemed like a good idea to use it, since the porting was already done and I like the one on my CZ.

Bob, where did you get the G.E.M. reed?  I'm thinking about adding one to a cylinder, but have no clue where to source one.

Penton Talk / Front axle seizure
February 20, 2003, 11:48:28 AM
The front axle on my MC5 is frozen in the fork slider. (It sat for some time before I bought it.) I would welcome any ideas for getting it out. I've tried a little heat and a lot of pounding. Thanks,  Bob

Penton Talk / Jetting for 250

I have a '77 250 just converted to a reed setup. Could someone suggest jet sizes to get me started, or suggest how much to go up on each jet from stock?
      Thanks very much,
            Bob

Wanted / For Sale / '77 250 parts
October 23, 2002, 11:32:26 AM
I have '77 250 engine parts for sale. The jug is good but scarred by rod bearings passing through. The head was scarred by the same bits, but is usable if smoothed out. (I'm currently racing one like it.) I also have cases, gearbox, Motoplat flywheel (assumed good), etc. I don't have a good idea of the value, so make me some reasonable offers and save me from ebay. Thanks,

Penton Talk / 125 Mikuni jetting
May 04, 2002, 11:46:06 AM
I'm looking for help finding out if the jetting of the Mikuni on my '72 Sachs engined 125 ISDT is in the ball park. I would appreciate any list of recommended jet sizes for not much above sea level. I'm having hard-starting and loading-up problems. Thanks, Bob.
