Penton Talk / float level
July 29, 2003, 11:25:00 AM
Thanks all, you have been very helpful. I have refreshed all the major components of
this carb through Bing Inc. I did not have
any specs though and this will help alot.
This bike ran strong and then went through
a major rainstorm in the  back of my PU
and that is when the problems started. I
have removed cylinder and checked for moisture and drained the little screw under
the crankcase to check for water. The ignition is brand new PVL and fires well.
The last  thing I am checking is the carb
so I wanted to make sure all of it was right.
Thanks again
Tim

Rob, I believe I have a brand new 78
tank in my Stash. The water decals are lifting a bit but it is brand new from
a KTM dealer that used to be here in town.

Penton Talk / Best Race Day EVER
May 27, 2003, 12:21:17 PM
Yeah that was mine. I won the Historic 500
Int. but was in the process of getting a
riding lesson when Mark Nelson's carby fell off his Maico giving me the win. It has been awhile since I have raced but it felt good!!
I think I got second in PV 40 int.Thanks
for the compliments. Maybe I'll see you at
Akron.
A few more hours on the bike and I'll be up to speed I hope.

Penton Talk / Best Race Day EVER

I too raced Log Road MX. My 77 400 performed
flawlessly after 2 years of sorting it out.
Now I will work on me. The Penton guys I met were just as friendly and helpful as you say.

Penton Talk / almost lost my head
February 05, 2003, 12:51:53 PM
Barry Higgins told me one time to run
the bike up to temp. then let it cool down
completely and retorque the bolts again.
This was at an AHRMA national a few years
ago and I was having the same problem, infact
the whole assembly was loose(cylinder and all)after the first moto. After I did what he
said I had zero problems with that again

First thanks for the bar info. It will be used. Secondly, I think I bought a 74
frame and tank from you. That one is
on hold until this 77 is done. The 77
is ready but it will not be a head turner
the way yoour guys bikes are. I have been
ready to go to the roof and jump on several occassions with this project but I just keep
ploddin along. I just want to ride it that is
all I ask of it.........whew!!!

I would try it first. Thanks Teddy and Doug
