I found two good sources of Hodaka parts.
1. [email protected]
[email protected]

Both a reasonable and easy to deal with.

Thanks for the tip on the Wassell in Canada.
For Rob, my friend in Minnesota, my email is [email protected]., I'd like to see as many photos of Hodaka powered trials specials as possible.
The Hongre (Honda CB150 engine in a Greeves Scottish) is really a hoot. I'll send you email photo's when I find your email. Or just send your email to me again.
I used a truck coil on my latest Greeves-Villiers and I have a real wicked spark. Finally cured Villiers ignition problems. I also figured out how to rewind a source coil.
I was a POG member a couple of years ago but forgot my password so started over this week. Wassells are beautiful bikes.
thanks

Andy L, many thanks for the response on the Hodaka-Wassell. I would be at Mid-Ohio with the Greeves but I am stuck here in Tennessee doing some training for security people heading to Iraq. I will search for the Bullfrog photo. In the late 60's when I had my Hodaka, the factory distributor actually sent me a spec. sheet showing a low budget conversion to the stock 100. I made this satisfactory conversion which was very simple. It of course peaked my interest in trials and then I bought my first Penton-Wassell. After bit I moved up to a Sherpa T.
Life is pretty much a circle and I find my self buying the stuff of my youth.
I found a complete Dirt Squirt yesterday for 135.00 and the engine has compression.
I also bought a new Penton enduro with plastic tank and leather strap when I was in Grand Rapids, Mi. years ago. What a great bike that was.
Do you know if Dane Leinbach is a member of this users group?

Can anyone tell me what it would cost to have a Sachs engine rebuilt?
Yes, it depends on alot of factors. I have 2 or 3 engines that could be used as a basis for rebuilding. What is generally the labor for a total rebuild? Who are some of the better rebuilders? What is generally the turn around time? This is a 125 five speed.
Thanks

Thanks very much to the people who answered Hodaka Power. I have a Wassell frame sans engine and I have 2 or 3 Hodaka 100 engines in the barn. Just for the heck of it I set the engine in the Wassell. It would be a real nice fit. The Hodaka engine is light as a feather. I would flip the rear wheel around and make aluminum engine mounts. I just wonder what either of the Hodaka 100 or 125 engines are like power wise to a Sachs?

I had a new 100B in my youth and thought it a nice little package. I bought a new Wassell in 1971 and it was a fine bike. Wish I still had it.

I put a Honda 150 4 cycle twin engine in a Greeves trials bike. It was a real interesting conversion. The Hongre (Honda-Greeves) Project demonstrated some conversions are possible and practical.

I don't want to offened any purists so I happy to see that this was done by Wassell himself.

I would like to contact the individual in Canada if at all possible.

Can anyone see any negatives about this project?

Many thanks to everyone.
