Congratulations on your great finish, that's so cool.   How fortunate that the ignition issue didn't greatly affect your results in the Historic 250 class.  Was Sarah Lane taking photos?  If so, you'll have some great shots to remember the event.  She got a few good ones of us from last year.

Have you had the ignition tested by Jerry at Penton Imports?  Not sure if he'd be able to identify the source of your intermittent spark issue.

Sinking Springs is only a few miles away. Do you still need help in picking it up? Can I call you tonight to work out the details with you?

I might be able to help with this, where is it located?

As Bob reported, the "Grand Prix of Wales" was quite a challenge.  The persisent drizzle left a course that became very muddy.  Bob deserves a lot a credit in his ability to adapt to these conditions.  He soundly kicked my butt in moto #1 PV Historic 250.  I really struggled with maintaining control and in keeping the bike upright.

Regarding our second moto the skies started to clear a moto or two earlier and the track started to dry out.  I got lucky with these improving conditions and felt more comfortable and was able to let the bike run as it wants to.  Was sorry to see him sitting along side the course when his bike stalled on him.  Regaining confidence in where the bike was going made this moto way more fun than the first.   And as luck would have it the afternoon weather was better yet!

It took two wash sessions to get the MC5 cleaned up after this race.  The first was at a car wash and the second at the house to get the thick mud off the bike.  Guess we made up for how little was needed after Lawton.

It was a pleasure to meet Dan "ThrownChain" Killian.   Likewise it was great to see Dennis & Rhonda Foley again.  Hope to see Dennis back on the track next year after his long recovery from Lawton '08.

This response is long overdue.   It was a pleasure to meet Bob here at Lawton and it was a blast to race with him here and then again at Broome-Tioga.  Congratulations to him for such entertaining event coverage and for his abilities as a rider.   I've not followed much on the message board in a while so it was surprising and humbling to see Bob's report.  Thanks!

The Post-Vintage Historic 250 class at Lawton in moto #1 had me stalking Bob, waiting for him to make a mistake upon which I could capitalize on but that never happened.  Nice ride Bob, that was fun.   Moto #2 had our positions reversed only because of my luck in getting a better start or was that in his misfortune regarding his start.  The MC5 ran great and was a lot fun.

Kudos to Ed Roman (a fellow Penton owner and AHRMA regional co-ordinator), to Ray Rondinello and the Back Mountain Enduro Riders for hosting us at this event.  And especially to the Allen family for allowing us to come and play on their farm!  This event is so much fun and for this day we even had great weather.   The track is old school and makes full use of the terrain in this field.
