Penton Talk / Carb adjustments
April 22, 2001, 05:39:54 PM
Thanks for the reply Paul, however the filter doesn't seem to be the prob. I made the needle adjustment(down)to lean the mix and got 'er started but wont run for more than a minute then stalls. It still seems to be flooding and slobbering all over the place. How are the floats properly adjusted?

Wanted / For Sale / 74 Mint 400cc Pipe
January 25, 2001, 09:33:14 PM
Hey Kip! i am sensing frustration in your search for a pipe for that 400. Would it be totally out of the question to fabricate one? I remember back in High School Metal shop, we were building expansion chambers for our Yamaha's Suz's, Kaw's, go-karts, lawn mowers and everything else. We didn't really have a pattern, we just knew what we wanted it to look like. I'd bet if you had an old beat up one or even detailed measurments that a good sheet metal man could easily fabricate one. Just a thought. Good luck!!

Penton Talk / Need Picture of 125
January 07, 2001, 09:40:37 PM
Great Pics Gary, My problem  is that the  "U" shaped portion of frame behind the seat had been cut clean off at some time, for what reason i'm not sure. I am trying to get an idea for reconstructing that portion.
 Thanks Gary

Penton Talk / What's the best way to remove forks?
December 31, 2000, 09:08:43 PM
Thanks Kip and DKWracer, the forks must have been 35MM, i did loosen the caps a bit to see if that would help and sure enough it was loose. I did however have to remove them to remove the clamp. My son told me not to remove the caps or else the springs would shoot out. The threads seem to be OK.
Happy New Year!!!

Penton Talk / What's the best way to remove forks?
December 30, 2000, 10:12:22 PM
Thanks Kip, i'm not sure if the forks are 32 or 35 mm, i was using a block of wood and hammer and that puppie wasn't even winking. I've been soaking the parts with liquid wrench and i'll remove the caps just to be sure.

Penton Talk / 125 Timing

QuoteActually, the ignition is one of the motoplat type with an aluminum flywheel, I suspect that they are electronic and have no points to adjust. What now?

Penton Talk / whats it worth?
November 03, 2000, 10:30:24 PM
Thanks Chris for the info. I think we'll keep the bike and continue to at least maintain its condition. I really am proud of this bike and I Salute the Penton owners for the preservation of these machines.
