These are not mine and ebay seems to go real high at least when I am bidding on must have items.

I am offering these to help the real enthusiast trying to keep there bike looking original or someone trying to restore a piece of history.

The guy who owns them told me to ask $40 but who knows he just might take less.  It is not my call.

I know I have been taking a lot of heat because they are to EXPENSIVE.  I dont know what a good price is since I have never been in that market.  I did not set the price and as far as I know he is not set on that price.  I do know that if I see something I want at a price that I think is to much I do 1 of 2 things:
1) Make an offer
2) Forget about it

I will give you an example.  I called on a TY80 and it sounded like it was a "fair" bike at a "fair" price but when I saw it I thought this guy is crazy.  I did not want to offer him what I thought it was worth since he was obviously so proud of the bike so I just forgot about it.  I bet the bike is either in his garage now or it is in someone elses garage and they are happy as ever to have it.

I have gotten some offers and I will be letting him know Thursday (after the holiday) and he will make the call.

When I had a nice "older" car my insurance company let me set my own value "in reason" on it.  I was told that if it sounded out of reason I would have to get a profesional appraisal on it, which means pay someone to tell me what I think it is worth.

Anyway the insurance company took pictures of it at their office and insured it at the value that I specified and I paid the rates that THEY specified for that amount.

So if your bike in your opinion is worth $5,000 then you will pay rates on $5,000.

IT ALWAYS GOES BACK TO MONEY!!

BTW - I think I am paying for some of you to be riding around in $100,000 cars while I cruse the neighborhood in a $3000 car.  Atleast I sold my $500 car last week.

 

Bob is half correct.  Everything should be "displayed" except when you are riding it.

I would have more fun riding and then talking about it than owning and talking about when someonelse rode it.

Bottom line... you have to do what you have to do!

If you need to borrow one for sample let me know as I am not using mine.  I have the mount that hooks to the cross bar as well as the mount that screws into the steering stem.  I do not believe that either one is used, which means they are not bent.

I am going to list them on ebay when I get time but if you could use them for samples first so more people could have what they need I dont have a problem with that.

That is close to what I was meaning.  I like how the wassel you can see both sides in one picture.

I also like your bike but I wish it was bigger and the other side was shown also.

I think there should be a way to re-organize into years then size.

Again I am only talking about "original looking" the rest of pictures could still be shown where they are.

I have access to a digital camera and I can send you a picture of how mine is if needed.


 

I was wondering (nosing) around a local shop the other day, that is what I do for fun and I found a pair of these covers in a bag and on top of them was the other set of covers.  When I asked the sales guy what he wanted for them he told me $40 a pair.  I do not know if that is a good price or not you can decide as I asked him if I could take them home to take a picture and list them on this site and the Vinduro web site since there are a lot of people looking for these to do a full restore.

Do you think it is possible to get a picture or brochure of both sides on all the Pentons made and post just so people like me would be able to see what the bike really looked like (brand new).

Just an idea... but a lot of work getting and posting.
