Wanted / For Sale / Penton Trials and Woodsman for sale
January 12, 2012, 08:32:01 AM
Hi Dennis, Not sure where all the time goes, good to hear from you,all I have the Daleman Trials and Scout. The Scout is like new and never been started and the Trials is a nice rider. As far as the prices go, I will keep that between myself and the buyer, I just don't want to sell to anyone, rather looking for someone to keep them in the Penton Family where they belong. Thanks

Wanted / For Sale / Penton Trials and Woodsman for sale

September 2005 Penton Calender has a picture of the Woodsman and the Trials is on the back page on the right side. As far as the price I'm still thinking on that. These bikes are not riders, they belong in a museum. I would consider loaning them to the right museum.

Penton Talk / Tires
November 30, 2006, 10:04:51 PM
When Penton started making the Woodsman, did they change out the trials tires for knobbys on all of them or just some? If they did where did all the trials tires go. I sure would like to find a set? Anyone sitting on a set?
My Woodsman has knobbys. Seems to me when they sold them some got the trials seat and fenders. Did they ever give out the tires?

If no one knows of any Avons, a different set of nos trials tires would work from that era, 1970's

Thanks Randy for the past year's calendar. Looking at the Penton calendar hanging on the wall just makes your day better. Great pictures, bikes, and POGers. I must have five of the 2006's, I will not hang just any calender on my wall, only Penton's! I'll mail a check. Thanks

Penton Talk / $20,0000. For a Dual Sport ?????
November 28, 2005, 06:26:32 PM
Teddy,   I just returned from a dual sport ride in Utah and one of the guys had the 950 adven. with knobbys and although a heavy bike it will take a beating. Go down, over the bars that KTM is tuff. The BMW would fall apart. I would like the 950 in a dirt bike style, not the Adventure style and weight around 340 pounds. Sould we forward this reply to the mother ship?

Penton Talk / PayPal scam
November 27, 2005, 02:50:13 PM
Mike, I fell for an ebay scam,(spoof email). It looked just like ebay and I filled out all there information, but stopped short of giving them my MC Pin. I then contacted ebay and they told me it was a fake. They gave me a list of things to look for to spot these scams. It was close, no money lost, had to get a new MC, so be very carefull out there fellow POGers.[B)]

Penton Talk / $20,0000. For a Dual Sport ?????
November 26, 2005, 09:48:51 PM
Dennis,  The HP2 is a lot different, much more narrow, throttle responce is better, seat height is much taller, front forks seem a little soft, about 80lbs lighter than gs. You could go off road much further than the GS. If this $20,000 bike fell you might cry, there's little to protect it. Ten cent parts like the skid plate, hand savers, front light cover, and very small tank are not what you think you would find on a bike this pricey. Buyer beware this is not worth the money, and the resale in a year does not look good in my eyes. All said if it were half the asking price I'd have one, sell my gs and never look back.

Wanted / For Sale / Nice Penton Trials
November 21, 2005, 07:20:25 PM
Dennis, Don't really know where to start. The Caster Shut Inns were beautiful, well worth the hike. After the hike I found my self wading across one of the creeks to see if the Bmw Gs would make it across. Well with cold wet feet me and the bike made it, only to find the next crossing twice as deep and me turning around, but to come back some day with the KTM and try again. For those who have never ridden the back roads of Missouri, you must put this on the top of your list, simply put it's like heaven on earth.
Happy to hear the bike started and ran ok, can't wait to see your first trophy with it.
