   Read you plight concerning chroming; I take all my dirt bike chrome to my local Harley shop which is Chesapeake HD in MD.The turnaround is usually a few weeks.The only snags are the quality is far superior to any of the chrome on these old bikes.Try your local HD shop/they shuold be willing to help.

      received your forum message about painting your penton tank.My shop does a lot of bike including my own stuff. I can do your tank but will need petcocks/cap etc. removed,also need decals as we clear over the finished product. We use all PPG Base Coat/ Clear coat systems. Also if you need any inside coatings for rust etc. have it done before we do our work. Our time frame is usually a week or two. You can call me 8:00 to 5:00 M/F at 410-879-6007

   A few weeks ago I posted my color findings for the Green on the fibreglass tankers and now have found a good match for the Green on the Steel Tankers.
   My paint shop uses PPG DBC Base Coat Clear Coat System. The following is the mix # and formula I used with a good color match..

     PPG mix # 2939 with (1) tint change

            DMD1690 TO DMD1686
                       DMD641
                       DMD1693
                       DMD1683
                       DMD642
                       DBX1689
   Your PPG paint rep sould then be able to mix whatever quanity you need.
    The white for the inset is PPG code 2058
    Hope this is helpful: I used this on my tanks and I am happy with the color match

A FEW WEEKS AGO I ASKED IF ANYONE HAD A GOOD MATCH FOR THE FIBREGLASS TANKS ON 125'S//A BUNCH READ BUT GOT NO REPLYS//AFTER MUCH COLOR MIXING AND COMPUTER SCANNING OF SEVERAL GREEN TANKS I HAVE A 98% COLOR MATCH.I USED PPG//DBC BASECOAT -CLEAR COAT.THE PPG MIX # IS 44931//I JUST PAINTED 4 TANKS WHICH MATCH PERFECT.HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS//I'M NOW WORKING ON THE STEEL TANK GREEN AND WILL POST MY FINDINGS SOON.
