not all bronze is equal . I made bushings out of aluminum bronze and never had any trouble . phosphor bronze bushings (hardware store)are not going to last . you want at least Ampco 45 . talk to a "good / smart" machinist . Not just bronze but "aluminum bronze". Dont let the aluminum part fool you this stuff is super tough.

Tell you what I have. Brand NOS 6d cases still in the box. NOS crankshaft assembly , new main bearings and seals , 2 coated pistons , new side cases , correction ported barrel , light weight head , NOS close ratio 5 speed trans , new shift assy. Basically everything to assemble a new NOS engine except for ignition and carb. All of this stuff is located in Chicago. GB was correct in suspecting the float. The foam (white) float get heavier with age. they can be checked with a gram scale , I am out of town at present and can't recall correct weight. Bing no longer imports the Black 310 floats. I don't know if they are no longer made or that this completely cures the white float problem and you wont be buying replacement foam ones. I ran 310 floats on all my Pentons 125/250 and they ran great. Talk to anyone riding an Airhead BMW and they will all tell you that the white floats are a common issue. DON"T TRUST OLD FOAM FLOATS PERIOD!

  Are you still interested in a set of forks?  Bad and good news. The bad news - the set I have doesn't have springs. Have to check my other garage they may be there. The good news - the forks look pretty good cosmetically. Need to know, do you have bearing races in your frame? the forks have the outer races. Do you still need that 250 clutch cover? wheel?

Sorry I've been out of town. I still have the penton 125 rack and black tool bag. Just like the ones Al B is selling except mine is an original. No rust on the rack and the bag is in great shape to. Metal headlight is gone but I may have a perfect Preston Petty still in the bag w/ instructions/black adapters/decal.

Monark frame and Torque Engineering pipe and 76 125 sachs frame have been sold. If the deal doesn't work out I'll repost but basically it's sold. Still have good bottom ends , barrels , heads , ignitions.

I have green tank,it has small dent left front and the usual scratches,nothing major. Bosses for tank bag - gas cap very good , no petcocks. No rust inside . Tank has been inside house for 25 yrs.
