Wanted / For Sale / parting out
March 09, 2004, 11:54:05 PM
This bike is scattered across the country bringing happeness to many, and just like any bike we sell...regrets will come later.

All that's left is the pipe.
The silencer appears to have been replaced and it has some surface rust, probally would clean up well.
I do not know what other year models it would fit, I'm sure someone here could tell you.

Thanks to all.

Last offering from my stripped 74 250. [:p]

I'm down to the following,
Frame, Rear wheel and swing arm, shocks, exhaust pipe, air box and some miscellaneous small parts, choke lever, mudflaps, wiring.
Side covers are rough but could be massaged for racer use or use as wall decorations [:0], blue lite special on these - buy one get one free. Heck, specials on everything...make an offer plus shipping, inside the USA only please, these parts aren't worth shipping overseas (no offense :D ).

Thanks again to the fine folks that I have been dealing with.

I apologize Ron,
When I include pictures, it not only fills your mailbox up but mine too. So, I might have deleted it from both boxes.
Hope this hasn't happened to others??

I'll reply by email with a deal;)

Keith.

If you would like to go to Glen Beck's web site he has a direct link to CBS and the NFL so you can express your opinions...as I have.

Also, you will get a real kick out of his radio show if you're so lucky to find it.

Before a knowledgable gear head answers Andy's questions I would like to add one.
What is the deal with the smiley face on the slide? Mine also has the smiley but the surface feels smooth, how does this cause a problem?
My suspicion is, if the slide was miked it would not be as smooth as it appears. Correct?

tmc3c, that shift schedule reminded me of a 12 hour shift that I used to work. It was 2 days on, 2 off, 3 days on. Every other weekend was a  "no work" 3 day weekend. This shift worked out good for rally weekends. We would also flip back to days every 3 months. 2 shifts, 24 hours of similar work in plastic extrusion.
Anyway, my 74 250 is on the bench. The engine is in process of a rebuild. The bike its self has been sitting for 12 years. This site got me motivated.

Penton Talk / Igntion Timing 175 Jackpiner
November 24, 2003, 05:03:59 PM
I believe these settings are different because two-stroke timing can be varied between enduro and motocross models. The 3.0mm setting would be the enduro set up.
I think I read this somewhere but, I'm sure some of the experts can verify and explain better.

Being a new member this site is a great source of information. Within the past week I've been reading old topics and have learned and enjoyed them all.
This might be too large a task but, as an idea it would be neat to have a libary of past test articles, like the one mentioned, at our disposal available on this site. If anyone is like me they keep all their cycle magazines. I'm not sure but I probally have some old (70s)Cycle Guides and Cycle Worlds in the attic. I would be glad to donate some to the cause.
When I dug my Penton out, I didn't know what I had, the production year page helped but pictures of models or tests articles would have been cool. Either way I'm hooked.
