Penton Talk / Jackpiner jetting

I figured it out, I had an air leak on the intake side of the carb.  I put an o-ring in the mouth of the carb and reinstalled, problem solved.

I tried there and didn't see the Ocean Blue.  Is it under a different name?

Thanks!

Tom,

I looking to spray bomb the panel I got from you, can't find the Ocean Blue you mentioned.  Is there anyplace to buy it online?  Has anybody else found a spray bomb blue that's close?  I have limited paint to choose from in town.

Thanks!

Thanks, I didn't mean to imply I didn't want to go through Al, I've been buying alot from him lately.  I just hoped I might find some locally, Motorcycle Stuff has a warehouse in town.

Thanks,

Did you get the slide with the notch in the engine side or without?

Thanks!

Hey Mick,

I can't remember if I did or not.  Seems like I did, but very lightly.

Penton Talk / Help with removing t-clamps on Jackpiner
February 21, 2005, 11:02:18 PM
Thanks for the replies!  Doug, I didn't skip any of the steps you outlined, but the forks had never been out of the upper yoke before.  They were slightly rusted and stuck pretty good.  I put the fork cap back in almost all the way, but left a small gap and then hit the cap with a dead blow hammer.  That broke the seal of rust to the upper yoke and they came out easily.

Thanks!

Thanks for understanding guys.  Bob, email me with a list parts and prices that you are willing to sell and I'll pass it on to Wayne.

Jerry,

I hope this doesn't make anyone mad, but this is what happened to the bike.  I spent the day yesterday driving about 500 miles with my brother to go pick up a couple bikes I bought back in January.  He is contemplating a career change that would allow him to be off weekends (he works every weekend now except in February).  I knew that if this change happened he wanted to try his hand at riding dirt bikes.  When we were kids I traveled around to trials events in Missouri and Illinois and he (my younger brother) was my sidekick.  Through recent talks I discovered how much this meant to him.  During our drive he mentioned that he's always dreamed of building an old muscle car, but my exploits with the dirt bikes has him thinking he could satisfy that urge by rebuilding a dirt bike.  Soo... when we got back to his house I went in an cancelled the auction and gave him the bike.  I know this will be a good thing if he gets half the fun out of this as I have.  I couldn't think of a better way to enter this hobby than on a Penton.  I gave him the POG address and encouraged him to read and learn.  He'll probably be coming on here to ask questions and I know everyone will be friendly and helpful.  Wayne is a great friend and brother and I'm excited that he's showing an interest in something so dear to my heart.

Penton Talk / 2005 ISDT-RR

I didn't make the RR last year, but I was in Combs for the ISDTVQ and it was a blast!  Easily the most fun for me all year!  Don't miss this one.  Trail riding, special tests, grass track for time and against your class.  The pace was lesuirely enough that you could visit with your buds at the checkpoints or fiddle with your points and stay on time.

Penton Talk / Repro rubber
February 17, 2005, 11:20:45 PM
Rob,

Do you have the rubber fork wiper with the hole in the back to run the brake cable through and zip tie to the leg on the cerriani (sp?) forks.  This would be on my 74 175

Thanks,

Tommy
