ISDTRR BANQUET

This post is intended to provide information about the ISDTRR banquet.  Any questions regarding the banquet should be posted here as well.

Reservations - Tickets are still available for $30 and can be purchased at the door, so walk-ins are more than welcome!

Facility - The banquet will be held at the Hocking College Student Center in Nelsonville, Ohio.  This facility is ideal for several reasons; not only is it one of the largest in the region, its quality is also first rate.  The catering will be provided by The Inn at Hocking, which is owned and operated by Hocking College as a training facility for several of their programs, including their highly acclaimed Culinary Arts program.  We have worked closely with their staff to design a buffet that should please everyone.

Time - The doors to the facility will open at 5pm and dinner is set to begin at 6pm.  I would encourage everyone to come at 5pm so you have time to check in, hang out with the other attendees, and enjoy the memorabilia and motorcycles on display.  The evening's presentations will begin at 7pm.

Memorabilia - There will be memorabilia and motorcycles on display at the banquet.  If anyone has any ISDT/E or vintage enduro memorabilia they would like to display, please bring it to the banquet and share it with the rest of the attendees!  This includes pictures, riding gear, trophies, motorcycles, etc.  The facility is very large so, regardless of what you may bring, I'll make sure there's a place to display it.

Maps - The banquet address is:

Hocking College
3301 Hocking Parkway
Nelsonville, Ohio 45764

There are many routes that can be used to travel between the ISDTRR at the Vinton County Jr. Fairgrounds and the banquet at Hocking College.   Based on my experience, I chose the following two:

Scenic Route.  It was chosen because it is the most direct route, the most scenic route, and because it passes Lake Hope, where many attendees are staying:

Leisurely Route.  Although it is longer, it was chosen because it is the easiest route to drive and it passes through Athens, where many attendees are staying:

Hope to see you there!

I tried typing in the mapquest address and no luck.

Whoops, copy and paste did the trick.;)

Knute-If someone is bringing items to display, do you need them before hand or can they just bring them when they come to the banquet? Will you be at the track on Friday if they want to get them to you then?

Lew, It sounds like you figured it out...just let me know if have any other questions.

Toni, Thanks for the memorabilia loan ;).  I would prefer everyone just bring their stuff to the banquet. I'll have plenty of tables set out, so it should work great.

I know it's not a Penton, but I will bring ISDT vet Jeff Hammond's 1973 Can Am that he campaigned in the qualifiers.  Barely clean of a quarter inch of barn dust, but still has several colors of impound paint on it.  Some neat mods...centerstand, chain oiler plumbed from oil tank in frame, other doodads.

That's perfect Jeff...thank you.  If you get a chance, let me know the displacement and current owner so I can make a display sign for you.

If anyone else has a bike they would like to display, please bring it!  They will be lined up outside, in front of the banquet facility, so we have plenty of room!

It is a 175 and technically still belongs to Jeff Hammond, although he gave it to me for eventual restoration somewhere down the road.  Hey, I've only had it since last year's Reunion in Tulsa...gimme a break!
