The following is from Langston Motorsports...

Saturday 01/09/10 at 3.51am Langston Motorsports in Perris Southern California was broken into. Surveillance video shows two masked men with sweater hoodies, driving a white U-Haul with a green fish on the side, smashing through a glass door and grabbing eight bikes including Grant Langston's two irreplaceable Pro Circuit KX250F championship bikes from 2005 and 2006.

According to police if these thieves are to be caught it will be with the help of the motocross community tipping them off about someone trying to sell these special bikes or the almost unobtainable parts off them. Grant and his family are asking that anyone with information to contact the Riverside County Sheriff's Department on 951-210-1000 the case number is PE100090014. Deputies said if anyone sees the suspects with the bikes, not to try to append them but to call 911. A $1,000.00 cash reward is being offered for any information that leads to the recovery of the two Championship Bikes. Please see our website at //www.langstonmotorsports.com for more information and a list of bikes stolen.

This is getting really bad. A week ago Saturday I was killing some time looking at Craigslist under Cape & Islands motorcycles where there was a cry for help; Sandwich: Stolen my 2007 CRF450R and 2005 KX250 reward offered. Monday morning I received a call "did you see The Times"? Three people running a chop shop in Hyannis busted by Barnstable Police, a task force, and Customs and Immigration. All Brazilians here illegally, one of them was immediately deported.
The photo shown was taken in front of the police station, complete with the two bikes from Sandwich. Using Craigslist, the thieves would go look at a bike and tell the seller that they'd have to think it over, only to return late at night.

Useally the knuckleheads out here wait for a windy moonless night, sneak into somebody's camp site, push the bikes out, and away they go.  Out here in the desert they like to steal the siding off of moble homes, travel trailers and my favorite, Live High Power transmission lines.  A guy did this last year and the power company changed something the way they  mounted the wires from the previous times they stole the wire and the guy got fried. He actually lived, and walked a couple miles to a house to get help. He was pretty messed up.  Good!

One of the guys over in the NEDR group posts stolen bikes...many of them from events. I'm saving for an enclosed trailer, however in the mean time cables and locks are in order.

Mike, congratulations on getting one of your bikes back; I hope you get the rest, also.  I too have had bikes stolen, now my barn locks from the inside, so they would have to cut holes in the barn to get in.  When they do, two very large dogs are waiting!

It is for reasons like this I have a covered trailer, and I always lock up my bikes at the racess and I have a security system in place at home. plus I live in a cul d sac that is on a dead end road. So you need a reason to be back there. plus all of my neighbor know all of my friends vehicles and if any one comes into the cul d sac, I know about it imediately...AS for selling stuff, I make it a practice to not show anyone my shop.  plus it kind of helps to have friends that Cops and vintage motocrossers...
