RIM repair

Anyone have input/experience repairing an Akront rim? Rim in question has a bad flat spot (non-shouldered). Can they be heated/reformed, somehow worked out?? This rim is otherwise a keeper as opposed to just purchasing/finding another one!

A good machine shop can do it.  I used to have a friend here that did that kind of work but he retired.
