SoCal,What's the date for that,and is it a National H+H?-i'm comitted to Az. vintage mx race Oct. 17th weekend.If i go to the 100's race i'll be pitting with Checkers M.C.Their pits should be easy to find Sat Nite !If dates don't conflict i'll plan on it,we can exchange cell #'s, and hope to see ya there.Later,

Checkers? Hanging with those characters will get you in trouble every time. There are two Nationals in October. SoCal MC is hosting on 10/10 and 100's MC is hosting on 10/25. Your vintage race falls on the weekend right between them so there is no conflict. Both races are being held in the same general area outside Lucerne Valley. I imagine both races will be good but I think I will ride the 100's race since I think they will have a better non-sadistic course than SoCal. FYI is that Cordis Brooks is in the 100's MC and will be out at their race. He can probably tell you some real good stories about the Killer Deek days. Just keep me advise what you decide to do. Greg,We (myself and John Hardwick,co-rider for the race)preran the Baja 1000 in 1977 with Cordis and Tommy,the four of us in 2 VW Bajas-with mucho cerveza,etc. and it was FUN...rode and finished the race on a 125 running as high as 3rd 125,only to lose the lights (and the course for a while)at nite ending up 7th.I'll be in touch if all works out and i can go.Take Care,

I have Tommy Brooks dads bike. I completely restored it(it was in very bad shape). The story is that he overalled a desert race on this bike because his was not available that particular weekend.Took it around the block-it has pretty good pull for a 125 but is loud as sin!

FYI, DKWkid is my younger brother and probably will be at the race as well. Probably with a little arm twisting, he could also bring out the Killer Deek.

I forgot to mention that Tommy has nothing to do with bikes anymore. He is into competitive fishing but Cordis comes out with his son Cordis Jr. and they both race 125 Yamahas.
