Absolutely beautiful HORNET!  Have you ridden it, yet?  I like viewing the not so common older bikes...  Thanks for sharing.  Joe

Nice clean bike Mr.Gooddirt, do you know what year it is ??
I believe with that style rear fender mount it's a 72...
It looks just like the one I've been putting together for a few years.
If Anybody here has a set of foot pegs for a Deek, I desperately need some. Thanks

Certainly not meaning to hijack the thread but was admiring the bike and wanted to ask a question to the folks that have ridden a bike with a link front suspension.  What is it like to ride a dirtbike where the front end does not dive when braking hard?  I have never been on a DKW and often wondered what they rode like.

Larry Perkins

It sucked for moto because when you grabbed the front brake it rose up instead of diving and it washed out easier in my opinion.

I personally like it. The good thing about the front end rising under front brake application is that you have full front wheel travel available for those big bumps as soon as you release the brake. It also rolls over logs and rocks smoothly. Not only that, they're so ugly you get lots of attention.

LG,

WOW! A Deek? Are you retiring the Penton for this season?  Are you up yet? Mickey came down yesterday to help me with the Penton. Call me when you get a chance.

Raymond, I may have some extra DKW/Sachs parts. I don't know how to post pic's but if you E-mail me I can send pic's of what I have. I have a Sachs MX bike and a DKW trails, both have leading link front ends. ([email protected]) L8er, Dave

Cool Bike!
The guys that came out here to Barstow earlier in the year, picked one of those.  I think they were from Texas and gave Ron C as a refeference.  I think their web-site on e-bay is my trash your treasure or something like that.  They picked so many cool bikes out of my back yard, I was shocked.  They had a semi come out here to get them.  The guy name was Larry F and I have his #.

I am currently working on a 72 husky 125 myself. I bought it for a song from the orginal owner. It is ready to run as soon as I can figure out why I have no spark...It was amazingly complete..

I bet there's very few of these that are still in running condition in the USA. Lo and behold it seems like most of the ones I've seen that run  are owned by POG members !!
I got a ratty 1969 SACHS with a 5a motor that Doug rebuilt quite awhile ago.  It gets a lot of looks wherever I go with it.
